Your pov.
I woke up and looked around, only seeing Akeila at the end of the bed. I smiled and pet him softly as he scoot closer. "I saw what you did to river. You're a good boy." He wagged his tail and sat up as his ears pointed to the door. A small cart came around the corner and a guy with black scrubs was looking down."Are you my doctor?" I mumbled quietly.
"What?" He looked up. "Y/n, you're up?!"
"Joji?! You have a job?" I yelled sarcastically.
"Shut up. Damn chef downstairs thought I was a nurse and made me take the cart to you."
"And there's a problem with that?"
"Yes. Well no. Okay, thinking I'm a nurse, yes. Taking you food, no." He looked up with a crooked smile.
"Idiot. Cmere. You have something in your hair."
He neared me and got close to my face as I plucked the small fuzz out. When I looked down, I saw his brown eyes staring back at mine. He cleared his throat and backed away mumbling something.
"Anyways... breakfast is served. Even for you Akeila." He set a dog bowl with kibbles in it on the ground.
I sat up and he ran to my side, putting his hand on my back, and taking my hand to help me. After the bed went into a seated position I got a sharp pain on my foot.
"Ow. Shit." I moved the covers and saw the stitches in my foot. I rolled my eyes and leaned back a bit, pouting.
"You okay?" He looked at me, concerned.
"Yeah. River's just a dick. What happened to him."
"He's in jail for a couple of months."
"Nice. He deserves it." I rubbed my stomach and lifted my shirt, looking at some of the bruises and small stitches.
"He's gonna pay for what he did." He mumbled, looking at my body.
I put my shirt down and started to eat as he did. Occasionally, I'd throw fruits to Akeila and smile.

"Yes sir, she's free to go." I heard from outside the door. I got excited and immediately jumped up, feeling a bit of pain here and there. Joji came in and ran to my side, holding my waist for support.
"By the way, I took a cab back to your house and cleaned the mess, then drove your car back here."
"You actually drove it?"
"I had no choice. I went like 20 all the way over here."
I giggled and looked up at him, watching the corners of his mouth curl into a smile. I got in the passenger side and Akeila hopped in, getting in the back, then Joji in the drivers seat. We started driving back home.

I heard my alarm go off, causing me to groan and roll out of bed. I smelled something burning and immediately woke up more, running to the kitchen, and feeling a bit of pain in my foot. Joji was up cooking. I went up behind him and snaked my arm between his bicep and side, turning a small knob.
"Your heat is too high." I stood at the fridge and grabbed a small bottle of water, taking a sip, and looking at him from top to bottom. White v-neck with grey sweatpants. Suits him. And the way those sleeves fit tightly around his bicep is perfect. I noticed myself staring and I looked back down.
"Thanks. Go get dressed. It's time for work." He blushed lightly.
'Shit.' I ran to my closet and slipped on an outfit, then ran out.
