Late Thursday morning, when the Slytherins and Gryffindors were halfway through double Potions. Draco swaggered into the dungeon, his right arm covered in bandages and bound up in a sling, being a dramatic as ever.June, James, Theodore, and Theo's friend Astoria Greengrass, where sitting together snickering at Pansy Parkinson simpering; "How is it Draco? Does it hurt much?"
"Yeah," said Draco playing a sort of grimace.
"Settle down, settle down," said Professor Snape idly.
James sent a side glare at Draco; if a Gryffindor walked in late he wouldn't have said "settle down" if one of them walked in late, he would had given them detention.
Then again, Draco had always been able to get away with anything in Snape's classes; after all Snape was Head of Slytherin house, and favoured his own students before all others.
They were making a new potion today, a Shrinking Solution. Draco set up his cauldron right next to Harry and Ron. June, James, Theo, and Astoria looked at each other, knowing nothing ever good comes from them together.
"Sir," Draco called, "sir, I'll need help cutting up these daisy roots, because of my arm -"
"Weasley, cut up Malfoy's roots for him," said Snape, without looking up.
Ron went brick red.
June sighed, she was cutting hers perfectly and quickly. What could she say she had a knack for Potion making.
"How do you do it so quickly and perfectly?" Theodore asked, eyeing her questioningly.
"Years of cooking for foster family's that didn't give a damn to what happened to me." June said bitterly, poring the chopped daisy into her cauldron.
"Someone's bitter." James teased.
"Professor," drawled Draco, "Weasley's mutilating my roots, sir."
Snape approached their table, looking down at Draco's uneven daisy roots.
"Change roots with Malfoy, Weasley."
"But sir -"
"Now," said Snape viciously
June had started skinning her Shrivelfig. She had almost vomited as she did.
"And, sir, I'll need this Shivelfig skinned," said Malfoy, laughing.
June snorted at his devilish antics.
"Potter, you can skin Malfoy's Shivelfig," said Snape, giving Harry the look of loathing he always reserved just for him.
June was skinning it slowly and carefully. She finished and pored it into her cauldron.
"Seen your pal Hagrid lately?" Draco asked them quietly, but June over heard.
"None of your business," said Ron, jerkily.
June didn't look up, she was starting on her dead caterpillar. She just listened to there conversion.
"I'm afraid he won't be a teacher much longer," said Malfoy, in a tone of mock sorrow. "Fathers not very happy about my injury -"
"Keep talking, Malfoy, and I'll give you a real injury," snarled Ron.
"- he's complained to the school governors. And to the Ministry of Magic. Fathers got a lot of influence, you know. And a lasting injury like this -" he gave a huge sigh, "who knows if my arm'll ever be the same again?"
