Ron was enraged that Hermione had never taken Crookshanks's attempts to eat Scabbers seriously, hadn't bothered to keep a close enough watch on him, and was still trying to pretend that Crookshanks was innocent by suggesting that Ron look for Scabbers under all the boys' beds. Hermione, meanwhile, maintained fiercely that Ron had no proof that Crookshanks had eaten Scabbers, that the ginger hairs might have been there since Christmas, and that Ron had been prejudiced against her cat ever since Crookshanks had landed on Ron's head in the Magical Menagerie. Personally, June was sure that Crookshanks hadn't eaten Scabbers, and she was pretty sure that he just ran away or died since he was looking ghastly that last time she saw him. Hermione felt as though she could only turn to June.Ron had taken the loss of his rat very hard indeed, and once again asked June to side with one of them. this time though, she didn't say anything and shook her head no.
As a last-ditch attempt to cheer Ron up, Harry persuaded him to come along to the Gryffindor team's final practice before the Ravenclaw match, so that he could have a ride on the Firebolt after they'd finished. This did seem to take Ron's mind off Scabbers for a moment so they set off for the Quidditch field together. June sat in her seat, pondering if Scabbers could have been Peter Pettigrew, the man that actually betrayed her parents, the man that was too much of a coward that he got them killed. Scared for his own skin. June scoffed. Sirius had given her the thought. He thought of it first.
June left the Great Hall and started for outside like she always did. She honestly had no intention of running into Sirius, it was just that the outdoors calmed her. She walked to her tree, she had claimed that tree, it was hers. She sat down on the still snowy ground and took out her sketchbook. She could see the Whomping Willow from where she sat and the scene was breathtaking, she had to draw it. As drew, she heard the crunching of the snow. The lake was starting to melt as was the snow.
"Hey, Junie." Hermoine's voice sighed.
"Hey 'Moine. The boys will come around soon, I know they will." June said looking up from her book.
"How'd you know that was bugging me?" she asked, causing June to laugh.
"I've known you how long, 'Moine? I should be able to tell when something is bugging you." She giggled, sobering up from her laugh.
The two heard crunching snow once again. It was heading towards them. June didn't let it bother her.
"Anyways, personally, I believe Scabbers ran away or got lost, and even if Crookshanks did eat him, what do you expect? It's in a cats nature." June continued.
The crunching of the snow got louder and the owner neared.
"Exactly what I told him!" Hermonie exclaimed, throwing her hands up infusion.
"Hey Juneberry, Bookworm, whats up?" Called the owner of the crunching snow. June placed her book in her lap and turned to look.
A/N: Guess who.
A tall brunette boy, dawning icy blue eyes, a green beanie, and a Slytherin scarf and a strawberry blonde girl dawning greyish green eyes, a purple scarf and matching ear muffs. Theodore and Astoria had come to join them. Hermoine glanced doubtfully at Theo, who had house supporting colors on. June smiled and waved them over to the snow.
"I'm going to go finish my homework, see you in the common room June." Hermoine smiled lightly as she got up, quickly leaving the scene.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare your Gryffindor friend away, I shouldn't have worn the green beanie." Theodore apologized.
"No need, Loins need to see that not all Snakes are bad. I should be apologizing, Theo. Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, and Parkinson kill 'Moine's saving thoughts of you guys." June said, picking up her quill.
