Xavier is ecstatic, screaming and running around the room.
"Care to do that in your own room?" Jade groans.
"Where will Wessa sleep?" Asks Maggie.
"She can have the passenger's room." Regeit answers, directing her down the hall. Wessa doesn't seem upset about being degraded to a non-cadet, though.
"Good job, human Xavier!" She claps her hands ecstatically.
"Kartrae would be safer, you know." Maggie murmurs.
"Wanna talk about it?" I ask. She looks at me.
"Okay."
We sit down in the dining room.
"Look, I met Regeit back on my home planet. He explained to me the meanings of the cadets, and how e had chosen me as the Green Cadet, intelligent, analytical, and serious when it's needed. He showed me his selections for the others. I learned to honour and look up to you, Jade, and Wessa. I guess I'm just kind of disappointed that instead we have... him. I know I shouldn't be. I just got so used to the idea." She admits.
"Well, at least he didn't replace you." I offer.
"Yeah." She chuckles. "You really are the perfect candidate for the Red Cadet. Compassionate and loyal." She smiles.
"What do the other ones mean?" I ask.
"Blue is courageous, if reckless. They are invaluable and serious. Yellow is selfless, and level. Throw them in any situation and they can keep themselves calm." She answers.
"And Wessa is more fit for that role." I conclude.
"I have no idea." She admits. "Wessa just seems a bit more respectful."
"Yeah." I agree.
"Now come on. You have to learn more about the workings of the ships." She takes me to the control room.
"So what's happening?" Xavier asks.
"You will work in pairs." Maggie starts.
"I CALL NOT XAVIER!" Screams Jade.
"Okay. Me and Jade. Wessa can tag along with us I guess. Rowan and Xavier." She decides.
"No!" I shout.
"Lemme guess. You're one of those people in school who doesn't like group work." Xavier teases.
"Nobody else does any work!" I defend myself.
"You will get into your own ships and await further instruction." Regeit finishes. I head over to my room and put on the uniform, heading into my ship.
"Release." Instructs Maggie. I push the button. "Look to your right. The small star at the end of what looks similar to your own Big Dipper constellation is your sun." I look. Sure enough, there's something that looks like the Big Dipper. At the end must be the sun.
"Mierda..." says Xavier quietly.
"Really though." Jade agrees. "And I don't even know much Spanish."
"Now onto the training. You already know the basics. There will be a hollow green circle button. Tap that and then select the colour of your partner. For Jade, that's green. Rowan and Xavier, yellow and red." I tap the button and select the yellow function. Xavier and I's ships drift slowly together until their sides touch. There's clicking noises and the walls dividing us disappear.

Survivors
Science FictionRowan witnesses the apocalypse. Not the end of the universe, just the end of his planet. Very rare to survive it, apparently, seeing how he is one of three survivors. Jade and Xavier are two other survivors, and none of them really stick together...
