We were in pursuit of the Gorfonians for a while. But none of us knew how to pilot the mothership so we lost them.
Regeit is in a healing tank. We have a meeting in the medical wing.
"Our leader is gone, we have no Yellow Cadet, and we have no way of figuring out a plan!" Jade announces.
"They'll figure out at some point that he's not the actual heir. Every second we waste gives them more time to ruin stuff." I snap.
"Planning is not a waste of time!" Wessa argues.
"I think that Regeit will be there for a while. We need to access his memories." Maggie tells me.
"And can we do that?" I ask.
"Yes." She answers. "But it will take some time."
"What do we do until then?" I ask.
"Prepare." She replies.
I have absolutely no idea what that means.
"Jade, you try to figure out how to fly the ship. Wessa, try to come up with a plan. Maggie will keep working on her thing and I'll try to find something that can help us." I say.
"Right on, Mister Leader." Jade gives me a mock salute and heads back to the control room. I look at Regeit for a few seconds more and then move on.
I start by literally breaking into a room.
It's filled with what looks like earbuds hanging off of the ceiling. I put one in.
"Tiaitchee dublyuayar ohef Jioharefohen ayendi Kayayartiarayee esstiayartieedi bieesiayyuessee-"
I pull out the earbud, not understanding the alien language. Perhaps there's one in English.
"Juarayendiemay'ess siohohkayaiee areesiaipiee-" I roll my eyes. One more time.
"Aitcheearee siohemess diayti biohai-" I leave the room.
The next room I find is through a hatch on the floor.
It seems to be the engine room. There's plenty of pipes and containers of gas.
I don't find anything in there.
Maggie comes onto the PA.
"It's done. We can do a memory probe now."
I hear back to the medical wing and find that she's hacked into the nanobots in the Intelligent Fluid.
"I've found his memories." She says. "Look at the screen."
He's on a planet not unlike Earth.
"I heard they're having a space school. You wanna go?" Asked a woman.
"Would that make you happy?" That would be Regeit.
"I think it would." She smiled.
Time skips forward and he's in the school. He practices simulations. He calls his mother every night. He doesn't have any other family. He also calls his friend.
"I dunno, man. I wanna go home." Regeit says.
"You're two and a half tarvites old, dude! A grown man!" The friend says. "If you wanna go so much, go!"
"Yeah, but mom was really excited when she learned that I could go to space."
"Of course she is. It's space! You could find aliens!"
"I don't believe in aliens." Regeit scoffed.
"Boloney! Explain the crop circles!"
"A ton of people trying to start drama." He replied.
