"We bought plug-in internet!" Maggie barges into my room.
"Okay." I say.
"I think you're missing the point." Xavier sighs. "Internet. Access to anything you have saved online from Earth." I shrug. In all honesty, all I have saved online is my music. And Magnetic North, while still being a great band, is not one of my top priorities.
"Well, I'm going to use it." Jade announces.
"You go first." Xavier offers.
"Your chivalry never ceases to amaze me." She rolls her eyes. She plugs the converter into the device and plugs her phone in.
"What are you going to do on it?" I ask.
"Probably just save some pictures of my friends and family." She looks down. "You know, so I don't forget them or anything." She goes into her settings and turns on wifi. Tears start to form in her eyes.
"What's wrong?" I ask. She holds up her phone.
She has a message from her group chat, called family.
There's a video. She clicks on it.
"Jade, there's the meteor apocalypse or something going on down there. The stupid space school's taking us out to space, but they put it on lockdown. End of the world or something." A boy says.
"We wanted to know if you were okay, right? Sorry if this doesn't get through, stupid data..." a younger boy groans.
"Maybe it wouldn't be so stupid if you weren't so cheap that you bought the bad stuff." A girl rolls her eyes.
"Cass, I don't know what's going on, but I blame you." He groans.
"I wanna sneak out to see what's going on." The older boy states.
"Matt, you'll be kicked off of the ship." Cass shakes her head. He starts to pick the lock on his door. "Mattias Johnathan Pele, stop that right now!"
"I'm going with him." The younger one decides.
"Dean, please." Cass whispers. The camera rocks as they walk down a hall towards a window.
"Cassiopeia Pele! What are you doing outside your dorm!" Someone calls. The camera gets shoved into a pocket.
"Looking for Dean, sir." Comes the muffled voice.
"Better find him quick."
The phone comes out again and they hold it up to the window.
"Aliens! Cass, look! It's aliens!" Dean points.
"I don't know." Cass says slowly. I can recognize the mothership landing on Earth. "It's only one ship."
"He means the other aliens." Matt grabs the phone and holds it in another direction. The ships are pushing the moon towards the Earth.
"Okay, those might be aliens." Admits Cass. "Don't jump to conclusions, though."
"They're shooting space rocks at Earth! Of course they're aliens!"
A voice booms over the PA.
"Attention human ship." I can hear Matt's heavy breathing near the phone. "This is Planet Gorfon speaking. Your planet has been destroyed. You are the last of your kind left. You can surrender yourselves to us, or you can try to run, guaranteeing a far more painful death." I freeze. I can see goosebumps on Jade's arms as the video continues.
"Crud. Crud. Can I say the F word? This feels like a good place to say the F word." Hisses Dean.
"Stay quiet." Cass whispers. "Hope you're okay, Jade."

Science FictionRowan witnesses the apocalypse. Not the end of the universe, just the end of his planet. Very rare to survive it, apparently, seeing how he is one of three survivors. Jade and Xavier are two other survivors, and none of them really stick together...
