"He's gone," Jihae mentions the obvious as we walk through the airport. I stuff my hands into my hoodie pockets.
We walk out of the airport and surprisingly don't bump into any fans. They seemed to have faded away slowly as each member leaves. I wonder if there will be any when it's my turn to leave.
"There's no one here," Jihae speaks. "Where is everyone?"
I look around. She was right. Even if we weren't here, there would be some other people here. What was going on?
"I knew it would be quieter as soon as Taehyung left," Jihae lets out a small laugh then sighs.
"I miss him already," I say, stopping by a large window, keeping my eye on the plane Taehyung boarded not too long ago.
"Me too," Jihae joins me at the window and stares into the distance.
Jihae's phone buzzes. "I have to get going, are you going to be okay on your own?"
"I'll be fine," I pull my mask higher. "Stay safe, okay?"
"I will, you too." She smiles and walks off, leaving me alone at the window.
I watch the plane start up and begin to take off. I can imagine Taehyung staring out the window and peering down at the airport. My closest hyung is now on his way elsewhere.
What if I never see him again?
No, that couldn't be possible. I would see him again. I will see him again. I'll see everyone again. Everything will be alright, and we will perform again on stage and ARMY will cheer for us and everything will be back to normal again.
Right?
It doesn't matter, we've come so far, it can't end with giving military service for a couple of years. I've waited for my hyungs, and they will soon have to wait for me.
Like Taehyung said, I'm the last one.
It's time for me to do something great.
