Chapter 5

**********Lilly's POV**********

My eyes got really big. 'What?! That can't be true. No one has ever said that to me. Well, once, but I don't remember what happened.'

"Oh shit. I messed up, didn't I? Great!!" Creed started whispering random things.

I just blocked it out all I could think about was what he said, "...I really like you." I just couldn't wrap my finger around it. How could anyone like me?! I had done nothing for him. Maybe it was that day at the house, but that was only because they were our guests.

Plus, what was so interesting about me! Nobody had ever taken an interest in me, so I expected that no one ever would.

"Lilly you okay. Hello! Earth to Lilly!!"

Creed started to wave his hand in front of my face trying to get my attention. I stared off into space wondering; why?

Finally, I snapped out of it. I looked at Creed with a confused look plastered on my face.

"Why me? I'm nothing special. I'm transparent, no one ever sees me!"

My face got really red and tears started to form in my eyes. All I could think about is what my ex-best friend said to me several years ago.

It had been a year since Emmalae and Lilly's friendship had been demolished.

Emmalae had found new friends and had become one of the rude bitches at school.

On the first one of 7th grade, Lilly was walking around the halls listening to her music. Suddenly, she walked into someone.

"I'm sorry. I really need to watch where I'm going," Lilly apologized. She turned around to see Emmalae standing there with an annoyed look on her face.

"Who do you think you are running into me like that!? You're nothing to me now! Get out of here!!"

Right then and there was the day that the bullying started. The painful words Emmalae spoke to her each and every day. "You're worthless. No one will ever be your friend. You're such a loser."

It went on and on and on. Lilly started slowly transforming into the Lilly that hated everyone and everything. It all started with just a simple accident.

Timeskip

It was now the end of school. Creed had been with me since lunch. He probably felt bad for being the one to make me cry. We were now sitting in the bleachers watching the band perform their show. I haven't spoken since the incident during lunch. I was still processing what happened.

'Creed likes me. That's not possible. I'm not good enough, right? Do I like him back? I don't know!!!' My brain was super confused. Did I like him back?

"Lilly are you okay? Do you need anything? I can go get it." Creed looked at me with concern in his eyes.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Sorry about that. It just... was a surprise." I looked him in the eye, but then looked away quickly.

"Hehe. It's fine. I understand that you don't feel the same."

"No, it's not that. I... I think that I... like you, too."

**********Creed's POV**********

I looked into her eyes. I felt the urge to kiss her but I couldn't. What would happen then? It would be so awkward afterward. But what happened if I did? There was only one way to find out. So I slowly leaned in.

***********Lilly's POV**********

I was so confused. Why is he leaning in?! It doesn't make sense, then, it hit me. Is he going to kiss me? But I've never kissed someone. What happens if I do something stupid? What if... I couldn't even finish my thought because his lips were already on mine.

His lips were so warm on mine. I closed my eyes and kissed back. Before I knew it, it was over. I opened my eyes to see Creed looking at me. I quickly turned towards the band.

In the background, you could hear the band playing Thanks for The Memories by Fall Out Boy. The whole band saw everything and thought it was really cute.

"Hey, Lilly?"

I turned my head back to look at Creed. "What?"

"Would you like to be my girlfriend?"
