Your POV:
*Flashback*
It's the last day of 5th grade. Everyone's getting each other's contact information so they can be in touch over the summer. Everyone joins in.

"Hey, Karly, what's your phone number," you asked Karly, your best friend.

"My phone number is -------------. How about you?" replies Karly. Her voice is soft and sweet, like she has all the time in the world.

Unfortunately, it's not like that.

You glance up at the clock mounted on the wall. It reads 2:54. In a couple minutes everyone will be dismissed. "My number is ----------. Got that down, Karly?"

"Uh-huh."

Change scene.

It's outside. The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, and it's the start of summer. No one could have a bad time here.

How wrong you were.

You and Karly are walking down the street. She stops by her house. "Well... this is where we part ways."

You frown. "I guess you're right. I'll call when I get home, okay?"

"Okay."

You watch her bound up the steps of her front porch, then turn away.

Change scene.

You're in your house, dialing numbers on an old telephone. "Hello?" you ask through the phone.

"Oh hey! (Y/N), is that you?" Karly's voice comes in through the telephone.

"Yeah, what's going on?"

"Oh um..." Karly pauses a second, taking a sharp intake of breath. "I-i feel weird. I think someone's watching me."

"Like stalking?"

"Not really, I mean, I guess so, but... I think I-it's someone I know."

"Who?"

"Blond hair, blue-gray eyes, loves t-"

"Stacey?"

"...maybe?" Karly takes a second to cough. "It's just a guess, b-"

"I think that's a good theory. She holds a grudge against you, anyway."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, of course!"

Karly pauses, then says,"It's my mom. She says it's time for dinner. Guess you can call tomorrow. I'm free the whole day."

"Okay, see you later!" you hang up and place the telephone down.

You sigh.

Change scene.

It's the next day. Sunlight streams through the window, sidewalks still wet from the early morning rain. You're dialing the phone again, but no one picks up. Giving up, you rush outside, slamming the front door behind you. You're barefoot, but you don't care. There's something happening with Karly. You just know it.

You sprint down the sidewalk, grime sticking to your feet. As you pace towards her house, you spot someone in front of it.

A girl with blond hair and blue-gray eyes.

Stacey.

You duck behind the bushes. You notice Stacey has something behind her back.
