Your POV:
Those Echo Flower thingies sure were cool, you think. Excited to continue, you find yourself facing another monster.

"Here, grab my hand," says Asriel. "We gotta get out of here."Dazed, you tune him out slightly. The monster in front of you grabs your attention for the time being. He looks old, ancient even, and seems to be a turtle-like monster. He's not looking at you, though. He's looking at Asriel.
Speaking of Asriel, he seems annoyed that you haven't grabbed his hand yet so, you go ahead and grab it.Suddenly, you're out of the room.
_________
You find yourself in a room you haven't seen before. Judging by the bluish walls, you're still in Waterfall, just... somewhere else. You see a bench and sit on it. Asriel plops down next to you. You think he's been hiding too much.
You say,"Asriel, you have some explaining to do."
"I know, (Y/N)... it's just..." Asriel trailed off. "Well... I guess I should start from the very, very beginning," he said.
"Once upon a time, monsters and humans lived on the surface in peace."
Wow, when he said the beginning, he meant the beginning. "Then, one day, war tore it apart. The humans were afraid that, kind, peace-loving monsters would absorb too many human SOULs," he says. Monsters? Absorbing SOULs? Already, this seems very confusing to you.Seeing your confused expression, he says, "Human SOULs are more powerful than monster SOULs. However, human SOULs remain even when the human is dead. Monster SOULs, however, shatter upon death. Also, unlike humans, monsters can absorb SOULs. If a monster, um, absorbed several human SOULs, they could, y'know... do bad things..." He trailed off. You, on the other hand, gesture for him to go on.
"Um, anyway, the humans declared war on monster kind. Being infinitely more powerful, they won. Seven humans created a barrier, trapping us underground. Anyone can go through the barrier, but nothing could come out.
"... unless they had both a monster and a human SOUL in their body."
"Oh." You have nothing else to say."Anyways, after monsters got sent to the Underground, they lived peacefully for a while. They were ruled by King Asgore and Queen Toriel. Everyone was happy.
"Then, the king and queen had a son... named Asriel."
"You?" you assume. For some reason, you don't seem surprised by this. You wonder why.
"Yeah, I am their son." He hesitates when he says 'am'. You're pretty sure his parents are still alive. Asgore and Toriel were those other goat monsters, right?
"But... shouldn't you be with your parents right now? They'd probably love to see y-"
"About that," said Asriel. "I'll explain in a little bit. So, where were we? Oh yeah. The kingdom was all happy. Nobody minded about the surface. After all, things were doing great down here.
"Then... a human fell down," Asriel says. You hear slight disappointment in his voice. "This has never happened before, of course, so the monsters didn't know how to react at first. Eventually, they decided that Tor- no, Mom and Dad, would adopt the human child as their own. So they did. Me and Chara became like siblings." Wait, what? Chara? That person that pushed you down here?
"C-chara?" you stammer.
"Yes, Chara," Asriel says. You hear something in his voice that surprises you. Resentment. But why?
"We were best friends. We did almost everything together. Then, one day, they had an idea.
"You, um, know what buttercups are, right?"
