Paul found himself facing Jed and his living room trashed with birthday banners. He stared in shock at the party he had put together. Nearly every country was here and Paul was nowhere near presentable.
"Dude, are you alright?" Jed asked waving his hand in front of Paul's face.
"I suppose. Just surprised." Paul said slowly.
He looked around the room and glanced at various countries that were there. Paul angrily stared at James who was bursting out laughing at his appearance.
Why do I have a feeling that Jed planned this?
"Well duh, it is a surprise party! Come join the fun!" He smiled and pointed at the living room.
"Well if you'll excuse us, we'll join your fun party in a few moments." Paul said gritting his teeth as he led Cassidy upstairs.
He brought her upstairs to his bedroom and sighed plopping down on the bed. Cassidy sat down silently next to him. Paul noticed they were still holding hands and slowly slid his hand away to bury his face in his hands. Paul caught Cassidy blushing as she folded her hands in her lap.
"Stupid Jed." Paul mumbled.
"I was only planning on inviting Angelo, Nue, Patricia , and Gelo for a small party, but it seems Jed has ruined my plans." Cassidy sighed.
"It's alright. I'm sure it won't be that bad. I just hope it will be over soon. I can't handle some of those countries." Paul rolled his eyes and thought about that annoying James.
Paul noticed Cassidy was still shivering and walked over to his closet to find her something to wear. Since she had moved out long ago, He no longer had any dresses in the house. He found a pair of khaki pants he thought was close to her size and a white shirt. Paul walked over to the bed and handed her the clothes.
"You can change in the bathroom down the hall if you wish." He told her.
"Thank you." She replied and left the room.
Paul walked back to his closet and picked out an outfit identical to the one he usually wore. He slipped his royal blue overcoat on just as he heard a knock on the door.
"Paul?" Her voice floated through the door frame.
I walked over and opened up the door for Cassidy.
"What do you need, my princess?" He asked her.
"Do you have a comb I can borrow?" She blushed and twisted a strand of her tangled hair.
"Certainly." He told her and walked over to his night table.
He opened up the small drawer and pulled out a pink comb. He sighed as he held it there in his hands. It had belonged to Cassidy and she had forgotten to take it with her when she moved out. Another piece of her he was about to let go.
