I jumped over a small bush and ran into class, feeling a little too confident. Some of the kids looked at me funny, like, Why is he so happy to be here right now? Truth was, I felt amazing. Energy was spilling through every part of me, my strength had some how doubled and I was more aware of my surroundings. It was strange, but great. I sat at the front of the class and stared ahead, thinking about what I would do when school was over. I could be in my vigilante mode; The Scarlet Spider. I was looking forward to that. Splat. My good mood splashed into my stomach. I turned around and saw Thomas Green wad up another paper piece. He grinned and shot another spit ball at my face. Surprisingly, I dodged it pretty easily. Anger suddenly boiled in my gut, urging me to go over there to Thomas and kick him out the window. A small voice in my head snarled, We should just smash him through the wall and make sure he does not bother us again. I was suddenly aware that who had just spoken wasn't my voice. Was I going crazy? The voice hissed again, He mocks us. He should be eliminated. Shaking off the weird feeling, I thought back just to humor myself, Nope. Not going to do that, not now. After class, I still had the urging voice in the back of my head, telling me to throw people out the window because they looked at me. I was seriously thinking I was losing it, until school was finally over. As soon as I could, I ran into the nearest ally way and changed into my new black and white suit. Whatever was happening, I wasn't sure I liked it. And I was tempted in figuring out what it was. I climbed up a brick wall and sat on the edge, looking down at the traffic. I sighed, "Okay, Voice? If you're real, and I'm not making you up, talk." Silence for a moment, then, Why do you call me . . . Voice? I jolted, "So, you aren't a figment of my imagination?" Of course not, the voice hissed irritably, I am the alien symbiote known as Phantom. My brain turned to mush, "You mean- like Venom? And Carnage? And Toxin, Scream, and Anti Venom?" I had heard of them when Spidey had fought them over in Queens. Was Phantom like those? Phantom sounded offended, No. My kin are villainous and terrorizers. I do not do such things. Although I need a host to survive, I try not to control them. Unless, they want to join completely into the bond. I thought for a moment, "So, you're bonded to me now?" Yes, he said matter-of-factly, I can come off of your body for only a short amount of time before I lose my life force. And yet, I cannot bond with anyone else; I have bonded to your unique DNA. I am afraid we are stuck together. "Woah, wait, what?" I got up and paced the roof, "You're gonna be on me forever?" If he could have nodded, I'm pretty sure he would have, Yes. I am sure.I am sure that we will make a very good team. And if my kin some how finds you, we can fight them off. Together. "Yeah, no," I said, my steps becoming more panicked, "I can't have an alien on my back for the rest of my life! And how did you even get onto me? I didn't even- " It fell into place. The explosion was a diversion to find a host, and Phantom found me. Bonding was what had made me feel so sick. " -oh great." I growled. I find it quite strange that your kind does not bond. We are very powerful together. Well, I wouldn't go as far as my brother, Venom, but- "I have the brother of Venom on me?!" I yelled. No answer. I knocked on my head, "Hey, I'm talking to you." Nothing. "Oh right, just because you're on my body, doesn't mean you get to give me the silent treatment!" I said, pounding on my head. When I found out that hitting myself wasn't working, I stopped and sighed, "So much for that plan." Just then, my spider senses went berserk. Phantom hissed, He is here! Sparrow, run. "Who is- oh." I stopped talking. A man stepped out of the shadows. His suit seemed to be made of the stuff, his entire body constantly flickering from shadow to suit.

"Hello, Scarlet Spider," his voice growled, "I am Kaine, and I have come to kill you and the symbiote."
