Kaine stood under the shade in the deepest part of the forest. He knew that they had gotten away. He knew they had won this battle.
He smiled. Of course they had won. One must let others think they have gained victory. He would let them go for now. Then he would finish the war.
The Hunter lowered himself to one knee and dropped his head, "My Lord. I have done as you asked with the Earthlings. The symbiotes are still on the lose, but are contained on the planet."
A darker, menacing voice chuckled, "Very well done, Kaine. You have proven yourself to be a worthy Hunter."
More voices hissed and echoed through the forest. Many soldiers like Kaine kneeled before the voice.
"Not so long ago, I thought you would fail me," the voice said softly, "But you have not. I am proud to call you a member of the League of Hunters."
Howls ripped through the air. Spears and bows were lifted into the air as the soldiers roared their approval.
The voice seemed to smile, "We shall attack this planet. Once the first wave has gone, I will lead the second wave onto that miserable planet myself."
Kaine couldn't help but smile. He had broken the boy's spirit by killing the River Guardian. Now all he had to do was kill him.
The voice snarled, "Prepare for battle. I have studied this planet for a time and there are defenses. The Avengers for one. The Justice League. But mark my words, none of them are strong enough to stop us."
I told you. I've always wanted to make a fan fiction with all my favorite stuff. NOW I WILL! HA! Next book should be out sooner or later. I dunno. Depends on how many likes and stuff I get on here.
