Airplane cockpit above.

I walk in for another late shift at work and I widen my eyes... there sure is the amount of late night flights... captains... first officers... everywhere.

"I'm here!" I say to Abigail, "I'm saving the cue." 

"Thank god." She blows out a breath. "You might think the fucking fliers of the planes would know about safety, they don't always go through clean!!" 

I laugh. "Oh gosh, you're red.." I stroke her arm. "I'll take a few... sit at x-ray." 

"Thank you..." She sighs and sits down. 

"Next!" I go to the body scanner on my side and mention for the next captain\first officer to come through. I've not seen him for a long time, and I work here often... but you never know. 

The alarm goes off and I mention him to step aside and Daniel continues with other people while I do my half. 

"You know what to do." I smile at him, taking my scanner. 

"What if I didn't?" He jokes, putting his arms and feet apart. 

"I'd worry about your flying skills.." I say back, and scan his arms, the scanner beeps and I check his sleeve.

"My watch, Rolex." He grins. 

"Handsome looking watch." I say and continue to search the full body... nothing else comes up. "Remember to take the watch off next time?" I say.

"Of course, sorry." He says, shaking his head. "It's new, so I wasn't that aware." 

"Well... If I owned a Rolex, I'd be very much aware." I say, with a thin smile.

He chuckles. "Right you are." 

"Luis, coming?" A first officer calls out. 

"Yeah, coming." He nods towards him. "Till next time." He puts on his cap.

"Hopefully not by me frisking you?" 

"Hopefully frisking me." He winks and sets off.. 

What a flirt... stupid really! I laugh to myself and continue frisking and so on... 

Luis~

I walk around the Airbus A321 Lufthansa aircraft and check around the plane, and around the wings before the front of the cockpit before climbing the stairs to the plane, I walk into the cockpit and sit down. 

"Aircraft walk-about, check." I say to Sam, the first officer with me today! .. oh and my best mate? ;) "Want to start the check-list?"

"Sure thing." He gets the check book out. "Fuel?" 

"On board." 

"OXY mask?" 

"Check." 

"Standby rudder." 

"Off." 

"Flight control switches?" 

"On." 

"Anti-skid." 

"Off." 

"Stall warning." 

"Check." 

And it went on and on with the check list as usual... And then there was only a few things left.. 

"Rudder and aileron trims?"

"Zero." 

"Standby power?" 

"Check." 

"Cabin and S:O preflight." 

"Complete." 

"Autopilot test." 

"Normal." 

"Circuit breakers." 

"Check." 

"Departure briefing." 

"Complete." I say. 

"Great, that's done for  before start." 

"Good, it'll be great to be going for a night in a hotel, especially in Malta." I say. 

"Oh.. the glory." Sam chuckles.

Casey, the head flight attendant walks in and taps my shoulder. "Passengers are aboard captain." 

"Thanks Casey, let's roll." I smirk and fasten my seat belt.

"A321, to tower, request to taxi." I radio to the control tower. 

"A321, clear to taxi runway A3."

"Roger, A3."

I pick up the radio and turn the 'dial'  to the cabin.. "Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome aboard for the flight to Malta. Fasten your seat belts and get comfortable. And thank you for choosing Lufthansa." 

"Oh, so well done." Sam laughs, clapping to add in. 

"Let's take off..." I say to Sam, putting my hand first on the thrust, then he puts his hand on mine next.. safety first. "Full power." I say. 

"V1." Sam says... keeping a eye on the instruments. "Rotate." 

"And here we go.." I say mostly to myself as we climb... 

OH the joy of flying planes...
