Luis~

Home.

There was a lot of places I'd call  home, but yet.. I always come back to the same place, Germany was home for 3 years, I was a Brit that thought the UK sucked, the stupid idea of politics had screwed up the country... but yet I was glad I came from there.

Germany was more my speed.

I put my cap on the counter and scan the living room, It was empty, I'd gotten used to that certain feeling. A picture of my ex girlfriend popped into my head, she'd left me because I was a pilot, claimed I was never home, but the truth was, I was.. I took return flights on the same day, just because of her, but apparently, that wasn't enough.

I'm almost never enough, so why think my life would change?

I sigh and jog up to my bedroom, unbuttoning my suit and throw it roughly to my chair, I was free from work until  tomorrow night, I might as well just have time for myself, maybe run by the pub..

I shrug and get ready, it wasn't too long until I became the normal everyday guy, who people would never guess, that flew airbus everyday.

Celine~

Me and Abigail walk into Tahe, the bar that took everyone's breath away... literally, I mean, who could count all the people that left drunk..?

I hated the atmosphere, I hated nights out. But my co-worker wanted to 'juice up' her words, not mine. I follow her in and walk straight to the bar, it was cleaner than the last time I came here, which was on another of my friend's adventures.

"Gin tonic." I say to the bartender.

"Coming right up."

I drink up the cold liquid and scan my surrounding, and realized what I didn't want to... Abigail has gotten some guy under her spell... and she's not had anything to drink yet.. typical.. I groan and gulp up the rest of my drink.

"You should watch how you drink."

I gasp and turn quickly to a random guy. "I don't need an opinion."

"That's not a opinion, it's a fact."

I cross my arms. "And who are you to point it out to me?"

"A guy who should've not sparked any alarms at security, but did." He grins.

"Excuse me?"

"I'm the captain you stopped two days ago at the security check.. the one who hopelessly flirted."

I roll my eyes. "I remember now."

"I'd never expect you here."

"I'd never expect a pilot here, who flies on a daily basis, maybe you don't belong in a bar."

He laughs. "You don't think a pilot can drink?"

"They're suppose to be sober."

"I'm not a heavy drinker."

"Neither am I!"

"Never said you were."

I pause.... wait, no, he didn't.

I groan loudly. "Not my night."

He nods. "Understandable, not mine either.. life gets to ya'."

"Yeah.. it does."

"We never got to name basis at the airport.." He chuckles. "I'm Luis."

I raise a brow. "... I'm.." Oh shit, that Luis. "I'm Celine."

"Nice to meet you Celine." He smiles. "So, come alone?"

"With my soon to be drunk co-worker." I laugh, nodding towards Abigail.

He laughs. "Wow... lucky night for you then, if you don't drink much... what about I offer you a dinner, while your..." He pauses to look. "Already, drunk friend has fun." He nods.

I bow my head, embarrassed. "Damn Abi.."

He chuckles. "Come on, I'll make your night worthwhile."

"I'll take that offer."

"Great." He whispers. "I wouldn't bother saying goodbye."

I laugh. "Me either, let's scam!" I take his arm and we run out.

Turns out there's a nice restaurant near the river, and it was nice looking. We walk in and get a table next to the window, it's not full, thankfully.

"So Celine, tell me about yourself?" Luis asks after we order our drinks.

I lean forwards. "I work at a airport, I live with my best friend... and I'm fully German." I say.

He smiles. "I'm fully British, too bad we're not that similar."

"You live with a friend then?" I tease.

"Alone."

"How long have you been a pilot?" I ask.

"I was in the Air Force starting from 18... and spent some years there... After that I thought, I couldn't give up flying, and started out as a pilot for actual planes." He grins. "Best thing I ever did."

"Why did you quit the Air Force?"

He clears his throat. "Being in the middle of war and terror.. takes bits away from you everyday you're there... It took too much, I decided, I didn't want to lose much more."

"My brother is... was a Marine." I sigh, looking at my hands.

"Was?... I take it he never came back..?" He asks.

I smile sadly at him. "One day I was home, making dinner and I hear knocking at the door, I walk over and open it to two officers. I knew what that meant, but I refused to believe it, so I smiled at them.." I wince. "And I asked them why they're there.. they took their caps off.. and that's when I couldn't smile anymore, and I collapsed." I clear my throat... It was terrible..

"I'm so sorry Celine." He took my hand in his.

"He was shot, because he didn't want to leave his best friend behind to die... he went back into that building.."

"He was brave to do it."

"He was always there for me, it took time getting used to." I frown.

"He will always be there for you." He smiles at me.

And that's how my night was, I spent the whole two hours with Luis. Talking about ourselves like it was the easiest thing in the world.

Friends somehow appear everywhere... at least at this very moment.
