Chapter Five
Elizabeth waited anxiously for Meliodas and his friend to show up. She was nervous about meeting another person but she knew she couldn't spend the rest of her life without friends. She sat in her usual spot and waited silently dwelling in her nerves. Finally she saw a blond head weaving through the crowd, followed by a tall girl with brown pigtails and a bright orange skin tight shirt. Elizabeth stood and greeted Meliodas before holding a hand out to the girl.
"Pleasure to meet you! I'm Elizabeth Liones" She introduced excitedly, the girl eyed her hand before shaking it gently.
"Diane Serpenvy," pigtails answered cooly as Meliodas stood as though sensing the tension in the tall girl.
"I'm gonna go get some lunch" he said cautiously backing away as Diane took a seat and Elizabeth returned to her original seat. Elizabeth nodded and smiled, oblivious to the glare Diane was giving her. Once Meliodas had disappeared, Diane leaned over the table and got in Elizabeth's face.
"What exactly is your relationship with the captain?" She asked suspiciously.
"Umm captain? You mean Meliodas?" Elizabeth blinked, confused "we're- we're just friends!"
"Friends huh?" Diane eyed Elizabeth doubtfully.
"Well I wouldn't say that Elizabeth" Meliodas said suddenly popping up behind Elizabeth and grabbing her breast.
"Y-you wouldn't?" Elizabeth questioned, ignoring the boob grabbing. She was used to Meliodas's pervy actions by now. Suddenly a fist flew past her and slammed into Meliodas's face.
"You filthy womanizer!" Diane shouted as Meliodas flew back. Meliodas surprisingly managed to turn the fall into a flip, landing on his feet and brushing his hands off. Elizabeth watched this and couldn't help it, she giggled, hand over her mouth as she laughed. Both Diane and Meliodas turned to look at her and she stifled her giggles.
"I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to laugh it's just" she paused smiling at Diane before looking back at Meliodas "she is kind of right you know". Diane looked smug at Elizabeth's words and smirked at Meliodas, temporarily forgetting her anger.
Diane was about to say something else but instead she and Meliodas perked up and turned their heads looking at the same exact thing. Elizabeth followed their gaze to see what they were looking at, Diane stood stiffly and Meliodas rejoined the table not sitting.
"Captain?" Diane said with a tone of uncertainty.
"Yeah," he nodded and looked at Elizabeth "sorry princess but we've gotta go! See you tomorrow!" he said cheerfully running out of the cafeteria with Diane on his heels. Elizabeth frowned, her mouth still open in protest. She sighed and glanced around the cafeteria, accidently meeting eyes with Vivian who was mid laugh. Elizabeth shook her head and looked away, she grabbed her bag and sighed before running after those two.
She found them by pure luck. Although it wasn't what she was expecting to find. Diane and Meliodas appeared to be fighting each other while a girl watched laughing. The girl was dressed in bubblegum pink and dark green and her eyes looked rather insect like. She was holding a small boy, a freshman probably, by the collar as she snickered. Elizabeth recognized her, she was someone who sometimes liked to hang around Vivian. Elizabeth hesitated but her mind was made up when she saw the girl's fist shoot out and burrow into the boy's stomach.
"H-hey!" Elizabeth stuttered walking towards them "don't hurt him!"
"Why shouldn't I?" she sneered "I'm having so much fun" she let her fist fly again.
"Diane, Meliodas, please snap out of it!" Elizabeth called looking at the two who were still fighting on the floor, seemingly ignoring her. "Please, stop hurting him" Elizabeth pleaded softly looking at the boy in concern.
"Tell me little miss princess, would you be willing to take his place? I still have a lot of anger that I need to release" the bug like girl sneered and after a moment of silence started to continue "didn't think so-"
"Fine." Elizabeth interrupted, a tone of finality in her voice. "Fine, if you will stop hurting him." she stepped forward and the bugish girl released the boy.
"Well that's a surprise" the girl murmured "tell you what princess, you come with me peacefully and I wont hurt you" taking Elizabeth by surprise.
"Come with you? But why?" Elizabeth asked taking a step back, only to bump into a taller, larger boy.
"Simple, there are some very important people who want to talk to you" he said in a deep voice as Elizabeth stumbled back towards bug girl.
"I- I'm not coming with you! Th-thats crazy!" Elizabeth protested and the taller male sighed.
"I was afraid of that" he advanced on Elizabeth, fist cocked back and let it fly forward into Elizabeth's face. Elizabeth gasped and stumbled before falling, holding her face. She pulled her hands back and saw blood, her heart fluttered nervously as she tried to stand back up, wiping the blood off her hands. The boy cocked his fist back yet again and sent Elizabeth flying once more, this time crashing into Meliodas. Meliodas was startled out of his fight as he stared at Elizabeth, now unconscious on the ground.
"We'll finish this later Diane," he said firmly, examining Elizabeth for any serious injuries. Diane nodded in agreement, standing.
"I'll take buggy you take the guy" Diane said cracking her knuckles. The tall boy rushed at Meliodas, punching him hard in the face blowing him back away from Elizabeth.
"This will be quick" he boasted but Meliodas wasn't fooling around this time. He stood, with a dangerous glare in his eyes. With an impossible amount of speed, he rushed foreword, his fist finding every inch of skin he could reach. He pushed the other male back up against a wall and punched him hard in the stomach. The boy doubled over and Meliodas pulled back, knuckles sore. "It seems I've underestimated you," the other boy stuttered "well done, I admit my defeat" he paused before continuing "Is that what you expected me to say you fool?" driving his fist at Meliodas only to find that Meliodas had moved out of the way. The blond grabbed the other's outstretched arm and flipped him over his shoulder, slamming him into the concrete floor. There was a loud crack as blood splurted from a new wound on his head.
"I'm sorry," Meliodas murmured "but you hurt someone who means everything to me and that, that was your sin."
The boy didn't get back up.
