A few days had past and no one had responded to Hawk's call about Elizabeth. Meliodas was no longer furious but now rather worried. He'd skipped school the past few day to care for Elizabeth so he had no idea if his friends had just gone MIA or if something had happened. Meliodas sighed as he watched over his friend, currently sleeping in the guest bed. Elizabeth had been running a fever for a few days now and while she insisted it was just a cold and didn't need to go to a doctor, she only seemed to be getting worse."M-meliodas?"
Meliodas was snapped out of his thoughts at the sound of his name. He looked down at Elizabeth who was yawning and smiling at him tiredly. "Hey Liz" he said in a hushed tone "how you feelin?"
"I'm fine" Elizabeth insisted, though she looked terrible. Her skin pale and her eyes had dark shadows under them. Her white hair was a tangled wreck, and her clothes were stained with dirt and blood and sweat. Meliodas sighed, wishing she'd just be honest with him. But before he could say anything there was a sharp knock at the door.
"I'll be right back, sit tight Liz" Meliodas murmured leaning forward and kissing her forehead. He stood up and left the room, heading downstairs to the front entrance of the bar. He opened the door slightly with an apologetic smile "i'm sorry but we're closed right now!" He told the group in front of them.
"We're not here for your stupid bar" a nasally voice said "we heard rumors that a certain Liones had come into this bar a few days ago."
Meliodas stiffened, no longer feeling very friendly "so what if she did?" He asked appearing nonchalant though internally he was screaming.
"Look kid, we're with the Order of the Golden Wheat. A special investigation team that's been assigned to the case of the Liones family. If you've got info, you need to tell us. Now." A man, twice his size and twice his width stepped forward his chin raised.
"Fine fine, a girl with white hair passed through a couple of days ago, but I don't know where she went. She got a drink and then left without paying" Meliodas shrugged.
"You're lying" growled the larger one
"I'm not" Meliodas said calmly.
"Get out of the way kid" the nasally sounding one with the large nose said, as the group pushed their way inside.
