I made it home last night incredibly embarrassed. Phil's family probably thought I was insane. I walked to my room and waited for my parents to get home as usual but, this time they were taking longer then usual. I waited and nothing really happened. I felt confused but, also relieved. I layed down on my bed a started playing music from my phone. I listened to the gentle melody and before I knew it the chorus was playing and I was singing.
"I don't care what in your hair, I just wanna know what's on your mind."
I felt a smile curl from my lips before I stood up a belted the rest.
"I used to say I wanna die before I'm old, but because of you I might think twice... YEAH YEAH YEAH."
I started laughing to myself and dancing around the room when I suddenly heard a door slam. I jumped off my bed to quickly turn off the loud music and peeked out of my room. I saw my dad walk into his room. He was clearly mad and I didn't see my mom. I snuck out to grab some water but before I made it to the stairs I heard a yell behind me. Turned around and I saw my dad, he stared at me with such rage in his eyes, he was hold a near empty bottle scotch and he didn't have a ring on his finger anymore.
"YOU ARE THE REASON MY LIFE IS A COMPLETE MESS!" He screamed at me before running over. I suddenly felt a pair of hands on my chest as I was pushed down the stairs. I fell down, my head repeatedly hitting the wall, before I landed on some broken glass that was on the floor. The glass still had some alcohol on it so we it stabbed through my back, it also burned like hell. I sat at the bottom of the stairs as tears rushed down my face as if they were desperately trying to escape my eyes.
"YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING YOU GET, YOU FUCKING FAGGOT!"
I started losing all feeling. Everything was mumbled except for a few words that left my torturers mouth. Worthless. Trash. Faggot. Pussy. I sat there waiting for what was next, but then I heard something, a sound I had never heard before. It sounded weak and degrading. I looked up and, he was crying. My father, the one that destroyed me, the one that broke me down, the one I fear the most, was crying. I didn't know what to do. I sat there in silence before trying to stand up. The pain was excruciating but I managed to stand and slowly started walking up the stairs.
"D-Dad?" I managed to stutter threw my fear.
"Don't call me Dad, I did not ask for you. YOU ARE NOTHING." He yelled before I heard the sound of glass breaking and a pain on my head. He had smashed the bottle over my head. I was covered in the little bit of alcohol that he hadn't finished yet.
"JUST LEAVE, FUCKING LEAVE." He yelled through tears.
I ran, out the door, I already had my shoes on, I had to wear them in the house so I didn't step on glass. I didn't get in my car. I just ran to the only spot I felt truly safe. I ran for about five minutes before I found a river, I was close. I ran over the bridge and I found it. The treehouse. I climbed up the ladder and made it into my wooden tree house. I looked around. I had posters all over my walls and in the corner I had loads of food, drinks, and first aid supplies. This was my home away from, well, hell. The weekend was coming up so I thought I would stay in here for the weekend, I found the first aid supplies and picked the glass out of my back before cleaning it with wound wash. I sat down and went to grab a water bottle when I grabbed something I forgot about. It was a bottle of vodka I stole a long time ago. I looked at it nervously before opening it.
"Maybe this will help." I thought to myself.
I hesitated for a few seconds before placing the glass against my lips and turning my head back. The alcohol rushed out of the bottle and slid down my throat. It burned all over my tongue and throat but I kept drinking until the bottle was empty. I took the bottle away from my mouth and threw it against the wooden wall. It crashed into the wall before it fell to the floor and shattered. Bits of glass went everywhere but luckily I didn't get hit. I started feeling lightheaded. My vision started getting blurry. I still had a burning feeling in my throat. I set my back on the wall. My neck turned to the side and I rested my head on my shoulder. Before I knew it I was out cold.
