Phil's POV
Me and my family sat at the dinner table in silence. I looked over at the empty seat next to me before setting my drink down. I stood up and excused myself. I gently walked over to the front door and opened it. He was already gone. The cold November air suddenly touching my skin startled me. I let out a large sigh. My breathe went into the air and fizzled away due to the cold. I closed the door again and walked back to the dining room table. My brother had left, most likely to his room. My dad was about to get up from his seat. My mom started cleaning up everyone's dishes except for mine since I hadn't finished eating. My mom looked at me. She was silently asking if I caught up to him. I just gently shook me head. She shook her head and kept cleaning."Mom, can I finish my food in my room?" I asked politely.
She gave a little smile and nodded. I grabbed my plate and walked up our carpeted stairs. I walked into my room and set my plate on my side table. I finished my food and looked at the time.
9:24
It was still a little early so I brought my plate down stairs and set it in the sink. I asked my mom a risky question.
"Could I go outside?" I stuttered
She looked at me shocked and hesitated for a second. To my surprise she said yes.
"Just stay safe and be home by 11:00" she offered.
I nodded and went to the front of my house. I put on my wenge jacket and my dark blue converse. I stepped out to the front porch and shoved my phone in my pocket. I started walking down the sidewalk without a specific destination in mind. I kept walking before I came across a gas station. My wallet was in my jacket so I stepped in to the building. It was kinda trashy and the cashier looked very uninterested. I strolled to the back of the store and grabbed a Red Bull and headed towards the front, setting the can on the counter. The cashier rolled her eyes and got up.
"Did you find everything you need sir?" She asked with a very monotone voice.
"Yeah." I responded, equally excited.
I paid, grabbed the can, and opened it before taking a huge gulp and walking back outside. I walked along the sidewalk and made it to a four way intersection in the street. I was about to cross the street when I noticed some bright lights next to me. I looked over and a car was coming straight for me. I dropped my can and attempted to block myself with my arms but, to no avail. As, the car crashed straight into me I felt an extreme pain in my entire body before falling back and hitting my head on the street. My head felt dizzy and I was in so much pain. I heard a car stop and someone hopped out. They ran over to me and right as I saw them over me I blacked out. I heard yelling voices all around me before I was truly out.
