Eventually we heard a loud knock on the door.

"POLICE DEPARTMENT!"

We sprung up and ran downstairs in order to let the police in. Once we opened the door, three police men barged in.

"Which one of you is Dan?" One of the police asked.

I slowly raised my hand. The police officer looked over at Phil.

"Are you his boyfriend?" The officer asked politely.

"Yes, I'm Phil" Phil greeted.

"Okay kids, we have two hours until your dad gets here. I want you two to hide as far from the front door as possible. We are gonna hide our police cars and hide out here." The police officer instructed.

Me and Phil nodded before running up stairs into the bathroom which happened to be the furthest room from the door. After closing and locking the door we sat against the wall and waited.

"How are you feeling?" Phil asked sympathetically

I wasn't sure how to respond. I had said fine all my life when answering that question but, I didn't want to lie to Phil. In reality I was scared, hopeless, and still in pain from earlier. I decided to answer less descriptively.

"Nervous, I guess," I whispered.

"After this your life will go back to normal. Everything will be okay." Phil stated.

I looked at his smile. It was so adorable and real. I started hugging him.

"I trust you." I mumbled through his shoulder.

We talked and cuddled as we waited. We talked about space and dinosaurs and anime and whatever came to our minds as we sat in each other's arms. As we were in a conversation about dogs we heard loud yelling and guns cocking.

"PUT YOUR HANDS UP!" We heard.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GUYS DOING HERE, WHERE IS DAN?" I heard my dad yell. I started to cry into Phil's shoulder as we heard more commotion. Suddenly we heard glass break and a male yell.

"HE IS KNOCKED OUT!" We heard another yell.

"Phil, I'm scared." I whispered

I could tell he was scared to put he stayed brave for me. After ten minutes we heard a loud door slam. We heard sirens. We heard footsteps. We slowly opened the door and looked out the hallway window. We saw police cars everywhere and I saw my dad get pushed into the back of one. We ran downstairs to see police man picking up an unconscious body. Suddenly, the same police officer from before saw us and walked up.

"He pleaded guilty. Dan you need to come to the hospital tomorrow so we can inspect the damage he has done on your body, unfortunately we can't do it today due to the police man that your father put into a coma." I nodded in agreement.

After a little bit. Everyone was gone. Me and Phil were left in my prison cell aka home. I had no idea what to do. Luckily, Phil spoke up.

"Let's go to my house. It's 11 pm. You must be tired." Phil offered.

I nodded at the idea and we hopped in my car. After we pulled up and walked to the front door, Phil was about to open it when the door swung open. It was his mother.

"OH MY GOD PHIL, THANK GOD YOUR HOME." She yelled.

"Mom, we need to talk." Phil said sternly.

When he said that his mom suddenly noticed I was next to him.

"Oh Dan, hello. Come in you two. It's cold out there."

We walked in, took off our shoes and sat on the couch. His mom sat on the other side of us.

"So boys, what's up." She asked.

"Well, it's two things really. Dan do you want to start?" Phil asked.

I decided to just go along to not cause as much worry.

"Ok, umm my parents were a-arrested a little bit ago. P-Phil was helping m-me." I choked out.

"Oh gosh. What was it for?" She asked.

I wanted to cry just thinking about it. I looked up and Phil and he instantly understood that I wanted him to continue.

"They have abused Dan for many years. That's why he ran out the other night. He didn't know how to respond and panicked. I found out earlier and decided to help him." Phil explained.

"Oh my goodness, Dan, I'm so sorry. We didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. That's absolutely terrible." Phil's Mom said, she seemed as if she wanted to cry.

"It's fine, I guess." I whispered.

"The second thing however..." Phil started.

His mom perked up and looked over. Phil took his hand in mine. I placed my head onto his shoulder. I saw his mom grow a big smile and her eyes widened.

"Oh I'm so happy for you too. I had a feeling that you were gay Dan. Phil, you had better treat him right, this ones a keeper. Oh Phil, i can't wait to tell your father." Phil's Mom said excitedly.

I sighed at her reaction. I had no clue how she would react.

"So Dan, where are you going to live?" She asked.

As she asked that question I realized. I have no one to live with. All my family is to far away. I started to feel panicked again as they waited for an answer.

"I- I don't know." I admitted.

They both looked at me and then looked back at each other and then again looked at me.

"Hmm... you boys wait right here." She ordered as she got up and walked upstairs.

I looked up at Phil. I had no idea what to do. I felt terrified but, again Phil was calm. He placed a gentle kiss on my cheek and hugged me tight.

"I promised you that everything would turn out okay and I have never broken a promise before in my life." Phil assured.

I sighed with relief again.

"Phil, what if the doctors think I'm crazy?" I asked.

"What are you talking about?" Phil questioned.

"I'm gonna be getting examined tomorrow. This means they will see my stomach and wrists. They are gonna force me into a therapists office and they will put me on a bunch of drugs and I'll be even more of a freak and-" I vented.

Suddenly my words were stopped by Phil pecking my lips. I froze and blushed.

"Everything will be fine darling." Phil repeated.

Suddenly we heard more footsteps coming down the stairs. It was Phil's Mom followed by Phil's Dad.

"Dan, we have made some decisions. You are going to be able to live with us. We know Phil keeps you happy and you dont have any other options so we welcome you to the Lester household." She said smiling.

Me and Phil's eyes both widened and our smiles grew. I looked over at Phil and attacked him in a hug out of happiness.

Both of Phil's parents smiled as they saw us before walking away to give us some privacy.
