After three days I was having dinner with my mom. I looked pretty much looked like her. Same mousy brown hair and full lips, but she had beautiful green eyes with specks of yellow. I just had brown eyes. She was still very young but stress had made her seem older than she actually was. Her hair was occasionally streaked with grey until I forced her to retouch them with hair dye.

I told her all about Julian and how he was blind and where he moved from. She watched me with mild interest and nodding along. After I cleared up dinner she went straight to bed and fell asleep right away.
I stayed awake for a little longer staring out of my window at the cars occasionally passing by. I looked across to Julian's house and saw darkness in his bedroom window. Just like the darkness he's faced all along his life. I yawned and climbed onto my bed letting noise of distant cars lull me to sleep.

"Do you know what the sky looks like?"

"No."

"Well it's blue."

"Oh right I know exactly what blue looks like."

"It's like a colour that makes you feel calm and peaceful and happy."

"You truly suck at describing things."

"I know okay you don't need to rub it in."

"The ocean is also blue."

"I know. It reflects the sky."

"We should go sometime and I can use my vast English vocabulary to describe the beach to you."

"After you describe it I will know less about it than I did before."

"How do you have any idea what it looks like?"

"You're not the first person to try to describe the world to me."

"Has anyone ever succeeded?"

"I'll just have to wait and see"

"Ahaha that was good one."
