Everyone was having fun at the party.
Smiles, laughter, and happiness all rolled off of everyone.
Somehow this made me extremely happy and giggly. It was like a drug and I was getting high off of it.
"What are you giggling about?" Jazmine asked me.
Me, Jazmine, and Sandra were just hanging out on the outside of the pool. I didn't even notice that I started to laugh uncontrollably out of the blue.
"I don't know. I'm just so happy." I finally said while finally controlling my laughing.
"Is it because you can feel everyone's happiness?" asked someone.
I looked up to Mr. Barrick walking towards us holding a root beer soda.
He has good taste in soda I thought.
I sat up to try and be respectful and bowed my head to him. I was really surprised I did that and so was everyone else.
"I have no idea why I did that." I admitted
"It's okay. It's not like I'm complaining. So I was thinking me, my wife, you, and your mom could get together some time and talk."
"Um. Yeah. Sure. But my mom would have to look at her schedule to see what time she would be available."
                              "That's good."
"What do you need to talk about with her dad?" Sandra asked( I noticed that she is a pretty nosy person).
"You'll find out honey. Now have you seen your mom?"
"No. She might be with Brianna's mom though."
"Oh. Okay." Mr. Barrick said. I could tell he was disappointed.
"Um. Mr. Barrick. I was wondering if you could answer one of my questions."
"Shoot." He sat on the chair next to me and took a sip of his drink.
"I could tell you have so much love for your wife. Why is that? And don't get me wrong it's a good thing but it seems a lot more than a regular person."
Mr. Barrick stared at me a little while. I could feel admiration coming from him. It made me happy that my observation pleased the King.
"Have you heard of soul mates?"
I nodded my head to say yes.
                              "Where?"
"In werewolf books I read. They always have a mate."
"What would you say if I said it's true and it applies to us?"
I was just staring. Did he just say soul mates are real? When I didn't say anything he kept talking.
"Soul mates are real and my wife is mine. She is my everything and I will protect her till I die. That's why you feel so much love coming from me to my wife."
"That's so sweet. So is it rare to meet your mate?"
"Not really. Not as much as it is with werewolves. As you can see we have plenty of women. And also the age to find a mate starts at 15 years old, not 18."
                              "Oh. Cool."
I turned to Jazmine and Sandra who were listening quietly.
"You're going to tell me when you find yours, right."
                              "Of course." they said together.
"Good. Thank you Mr. Barrick and you have and beautiful house."
"Thanks. And thank you for listening." Mr. Barrick then got up and headed in the house.
"I'm going to get something to drink, ok."
                              "Yup." said Sandra
                              "We'll be here." Said Jazmine.
I got up and headed to the snack table which was outside. I also grabbed my phone and checked the time. It was 6:30. I've been here for about an hour and a half. I grabbed a soda(root beer) and started to head back.
That's when I say a cute little puppy that had golden fur like a golden retriever. The puppy saw me and scurried inside the house. I don't know why but I followed it. I went to a part of the house where no one was at. It seemed like a really bad idea to keep following the dog but I just really wanted to pet it. I've always wanted a dog.
The dog went through a door and I followed suit.
The room was pretty dark but I found a light switch and turned it on. This room was defiantly a music room. There was a grand piano, a guitar, a violin, viola, cello, bass, saxophone, and other instruments I don't even know.
I felt something on my leg and looked down to see the dog rubbing it. I picked the puppy up and petted him. I say him now because I saw what sex the dog was. Kind of hard to miss.
I sat on the seat next the piano and petted him.
"Now. Where did you come from little boy? Hmmm. Do you have an owner? I don't see a collar." I said to the dog.
Now don't you judge me. I would like someone to say that when they see a cute animal they don't talk to it. And if they do their lying. Who doesn't talk to animals sometimes?
I heard foot steps and looked up to see a hot man standing in the door. At first I felt surprise then anger, plenty of it.
"Who the hell are you!!" the man yelled
I felt power. A lot of it. It felt like something hitting me on the chest. Hard. It was so overpowering.
For a second I was in the room then, there was darkness.
