Chapter 1

"Is this the end of the world? I don't know. No one still has not been able to answer this one question. We read about them, wanted to be them during Halloween. Heck, some people literally wanted to be one of them by even going to the extremes. But no one could have guessed that they were real. Exactly one year and a month ago, August 27, 2014, they revealed themselves. Their statement was that they were tired of being in seclusion for so long and want to live in harmony with us humans. They are called blood suckers and hells servants. But to formally name them they are called vamp-".

"Stupid news. The king and queen of vampires show up and talk to the president and it's suddenly a huge deal." I said as I put the TV on mute.

"What are you talking about Brianna? Of course it's a big deal. They do suck blood you know"

"Wrong! They said themselves that all the stories are wrong and they actually only drink blood once in their entire life to live. Ha Ha Ha!!"

"Well, I don't believe them. Now get in this kitchen and eat breakfast or you'll be late for school."

"Well in that case I'll walk really slowly."

Proving my point I walked in slow motion from the living room to the kitchen. I was about half way there when she came around the corner with that evil look. One look at that and I was practically running. My mom just smiled and continued cooking. My mom had one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen. She's 5'7, with a slim body which is fully tanned. Her dark brown hair went an inch or two past her shoulders which perfectly framed her face. Besides her smile the most stunning part of her is her eyes, which are ocean blue. I can't count how many times I wished to wake up one day and have her eyes. But of course I wake up with my same old eyes. I'm not saying I have boring eyes or anything, because I don't. People always compliment me on my eyes. I look a lot like my mom actually but my hair, which is a lighter brown, and my eyes, which are light grass green. Oh yeah, and I'm shorter by an inch.

"So how's your classes, honey? You like your teachers?" said my mom when she sat down beside me with her plate.

"There good so far. It's only been one month since school started and I'm pretty sure I already hate half the students in each of my classes. And also I believe my English teacher is gay." After that I started to chow down on my breakfast (which was cereal by the way).

My mom drank some orange juice and cleared her throat, then spoke.

"Ok, first of all, NO getting in fights this year. You understand that misses."

"Yes ma'am"

"Good. Second, why do you care if your teacher is gay or not?"

"I don't. But that doesn't mean the rest of my immature class don't care." I put my spoon in the bowl with a clank and turned to face my mom.

"I mean literally almost every time he says something someone in the class will yell out 'Huh GAY'. And I admit it at first I did giggle but now it's just so annoying."

She took all the dishes and put it in the sink then turned around and tapped her watch. This was our little signal to tell each other it's time to do something, in my case it's to go to school. With a big huff I gave my mom a kiss on the cheek, grabbed my stuff and started walking towards the door. I was at the door when my mom yelled at me.

"You're forgetting something."

"Love you. Have a good day."

"Yes but something else too"
