Betty sat by Jughead's side whilst he lay unconscious on the hospital bed. She had been there for hours but she wasnt going to leave until she knew Jug was okay. He looked a sight his arms were covered in wounds and he had dark circles under his eyes, darker than usual, but his physical appearance isn't the only shocking thing about him he had IV in his arms and a breathing mask over his mouth. Finally Jughead awoke confused as to where he was and what was going on. "Hey Juggie baby you're in the hospital everything's ok at least i hope so." Betty said calmingly. "But what made you get here in the first place?"
"Did you not see the fight Betts." He replied. "I dont mean about the fight Jug." She said back giving him a look of 'I know why you're really here'.
"Fine, its that i have always been self conscious about how i look and i see all the other guys at school and they're all buff and muscular and then i look at me and i look nothing like them." A few tears spilled out of Jughead's eyes. "And with the way i used to eat i was scared about gaining weight and people making fun if me for that. Scared that you would no longer love me." Tears streamed down his flustered face and few rolled down Betty's cheeks. "That's why i stopped eating... That's why im here." He looked down to his lap in disappointment fiddling with his thumbs. The room was silent with Betty trying to comprehend the words that Jughead spoke. Until she finally and quietly said. "Juggie you don't ever have to change yourself to meet other people's standards you was fine the way you was. And i still love you even after this. And i should of known. I should of paid more attention to all the signs like you not wanting me to hug you and the most obvious thing of all. You not eating. Im so stupid." She started to cry.
"Betty look at me." Betty's eyes met Jughead's tired but beautiful blue ones. "Dont blame anything on you i was the stupid one. Dont cry either, such a pretty girl like you shouldn't get worked up over something that wasn't you're fault." Jughead replied with a shy smile whilst wiping away Betty's tears with a shaky and weak hand. "Okay." She said in a whisper and they both shared a gentle kiss. "Get some sleep Jug you need it." Betty told him. Soon Jughead found himself drifting off into sleep with Betty holding his scrawny hand interlocking their fingers inbetween each others

It was Saturday morning and Betty had got a good nights sleep, but Jughead on the other hand did not his sleep was filled with tossing and turning on the uncomfortable hospital bed and nightmares. But he just brushed it off like nothing had happened. An hour later a nurse bought Jughead his breakfast but did not care to eat it as he wasn't hungry and hospital food wasn't all that good either. Betty came by not long after he was given his meal and she gave Jug a soft kiss on the cheek before sitting down in the chair by the bed. She noticed the un-eaten food on the tray. "Jug, have you eaten anything." She asked already knowing the answer. "No." He sighed, "Im not hungry."
"Juggie please just try." Betty pleaded as she put some food on a plastic fork. "Okay." He reluctantly said then he slowly but surely ate the food that was on the fork and the smallest bit more off the plate. "That's all i can do." Jughead piped up "Sorry if i didn't eat as much as you wanted me too." He said slightly sad. "No Juggie im really proud. But its weird for me to see you not clear the plate." She giggled
"Umm, Betty would you rather me stronger and muscular like Archie than me being so skinny and weak?" Jughead quietly asked.
"Jug why would you even ask that! But it is you're decision. You choose how you want you're body to look but you shouldn't starve yourself. And you'll find that once you gain this weight back you'll be much happier. And i dont want you to be like Archie because i fell in love with you and all your quirks and flaws.
"Thanks Juliet." Jughead whispered before they both shared a tender hug.
