In hindsight going on a hunger strike to protest getting southside high back seemed to be a good idea. Until he realised he can't survive going 3 hours without food until he starts to feel hungry.

It was all one big mistake wrapped up in a burrito Jughead was willing to eat at this point. So far he's gone 3 days not consuming anything apart from water, and the pain in the pit of his stomach was unbearable. But he was convinced that he was doing this for a good cause. Once he got southside high back it would all be worth it. Right?

Currently pitch black darkness surrounds Jughead, he doesn't know what time it is, and will probably never know unless someone with a phone or watch can tell him. He's all alone, the serpents all left off to Pop's to warm up and his dad left with them to make sure they didn't break their hunger strike. Jughead opted to remain chained up to the building, a ragdoll slumped against the wall. Jughead tries to take his mind off the thought of being at a booth in Pop's digging into a burger and fries and sipping on a milkshake, but the thought is clear in his mind, an imprinted message in his brain to tell him he needs to eat something. His stomach tells him to, growling and yearning for something, anything to eat that is solid.

He shivers from the cold even though he's got three layers on underneath his jacket, he's still cold. The nights are freezing in Riverdale, no wonder the rest of the serpents went inside. But he stays put, he wonders if the reason he can't move is because he's frozen to the ground. He tests this theory by shuffling around on the ground, successfully lifting his butt off the floor.

It's (probably) been another hour and the serpents still haven't returned. Jughead thinks they've left him here to die as it surely feels like it, his fingers and face is numb from the icy breeze and there's an ache in his tummy that just won't go away. Jughead feels like he could pass out. He isn't sure if it's from the lack of nutrients in his body or if it's from the lack of sleep he's been getting by laying on uncomfortable concrete and his stomach rumbling every five seconds to wake him up again when he finally manage to fall into the unconsciousness of sleep, only being woken up by the starved organ.

There's a figure coming towards him. He wonders if he's hallucinating however the figure doesn't leave his sight. In fact it only gets closer.

"Hey."
"Betts, hey. What are you doing here at-?" He pauses hoping Betty will tell him the time so he can get a grip at how long it will be until the sun finally rises again. "2am." Betty finishes his sentence. "And I'm here Jug, to help you."
"Help me how?" Jughead asked in almost suspicion of her actions of what she might do to help him. "I got a blanket, it's freezing out here and i can't bare the thought of you getting pneumonia or something." She said worriedly. "Thank you Betty, really thank you." He wraps the blanket around his shivering frame and he starts to feel a little less like he might die. Although his belly kept on roaring like a lion. He definitely felt slightly better.

Betty curled up with him under the blanket, and for some reason she just wouldn't stop giggling. "Betty, what are you laughing at?" He asked curiously, "You, well should i say your stomach. It's so loud!" Jughead shook his head and chuckled slightly. "Well yeah Betts, that's kind of what happens when you haven't eaten for 4 days now." Betty still continued to laugh. "I know Juggie, but it sounds like you have a wild animal in your tummy or something." Jughead sighed, "Well if you keep on laughing i just might have to eat you." He tried to look serious but ended up make Betty laugh even more. Jughead then leaned in to Betty to kiss her on the lips so passionately and so full of lust, igniting her mind like a forest fire unable to be tamed.

He moved his lips to her neck, teeth brushing against her skin biting her gently as he leaves marks over her neck. But as gentle as it was it made him seem powerful he was no longer for food, he was only hungry for Betty, he wanted to kiss her so much and never wanted her to leave his sight. It's been so long since they ever did anything as intimate. Not since they went on that weekend away at Veronica's cabin in the woods. And now Jughead was addicted and wanted more of her. He wanted to taste the lipgloss on her always pink lips. Wanted to smell the scent of her perfume. The way she would sigh when he got her to relax enough and forget about her crazy family. He wanted her. All of her. All the time.

Thunder interrupted them from their make out session. Betty curled in closer to Jughead, him knowing all about her fear of thunderstorms. His arms wrapped around her petite frame, protecting her as if she was a porcelain doll. Fragile anything could break her. But not when Jughead was there. He would do whatever he could to make her smile and laugh.

It was nearing dawn, without the couple realising they had both slipped off to sleep. A buzzing from Betty's phone startling her awake and soon Jughead. She looked at her phone to see her mom calling. It was 5:30 and her mother always likes to get her up early as to not be late for school. "Crap, Juggie its my mom! I gotta go but i'll be back again later tonight." She rushed through her sentence before giving Jughead a quick kiss on the cheek before she left to meet her obviously fuming mother.

Jughead thought that this whole protest would go to shit. But he realised that when he had Betty there, everything seemed a little more bearable. Now all Jughead is hoping is that she can sneak him a burger from Pop's.

Hey my dudes. So the finale was amazing in my opinion so many different emotions and things happening but i loved all of it. Episode 16 is my favourite episode of season 2 so i wanted to do this little 'what if' prompt where Betty came to take care of Jug and cuddle with him whilst on his hunger strike. Now i want to know what you thought of the finale and what your favourite episode from season 2 is.
