"Deidreeeeee...... Deirdre! get up!" My Aunt Annie called from downstairs,"Mmmph" I mumbled in reply.
"Get up and ready, we have things to do today! You have a horseback tour at noon!" She yelled again. Crap, I forgot. I get up and dressed quickly, running upstairs to put my face on for the day. I grab a banana and check the time, 11 30 already! Shoot, running outside, I grab 2 horses, saddle them, and put them in the arena. I sigh. I have a big job out at the ranch. I take poelpe on tours and through trails by horseback, make sure the campers are taken care of, and make the arrival and departure times. I'm basically the manager.
I check my watch again, 11 50, perfect. I do my rounds through the campers, luckily theres only 3 sites taken up. Everyones good. Okay 1 person from campsite number 2 is registered for a 1 on 1 horseback ride. I walk over," Hello, I'm Deidre, the camp manager, I'm here for the scheduled horseback tour?" I say to the lady tending the fire," Oh hello dear, COLTON GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE, ITS TIME FOR THE HORSE THING YOU WANTED!" She yelled to the camper. Noooooononononono, this has to be a different Colton! Don't be THAT Colton!
Colton's POV
I hear my mother yelling from outside the camper. My riding appointment is up. I walk out to see Deidre standing there, eyes wide, heh. I smirk and walk up,"Well hellooo," I say," Hi, I'm Deidre and I'll be your guide today," She smiles politely. She's pretending she doesn't know me! Cheeky little...
"Well nice to meet you Deidre, shall we go?" I ask,"Just be careful kids," My mother says as we walk away. Such a mom," yeah yeah," I yell back.
Deidre and I walk over towards what looks like the arena. She has to teach me the commands and how to ride before heading out on the open trail. We spend a good 25 minutes in there and off we went, into the woods. Alone. Together.
