Chapter Sixteen Can't I Have A Normal Life?

Kayla's POV

Dear diary,

Today is going to be great...I hope anyway. I wish that things were normal but with my life nothing will be normal. If I could change my life then I would. There is no spell that exists, that can do that. If I could make this world a better place I would in a second.

I set my diary down and went to take a shower. I turned the shower on, then stripped. When I got in I felt the nice warm water on my skin and I shuddered. The warm water felt good on my skin.

Third Person POV

Damon had decided not to go to school seeing that Kayla wouldn't be there anymore. He hated staying away from her. He loved her dearly and he didn't want to let her go.

"I'm going to Kayla's!" Damon called out to the kissing couple which happened to be Stefan and Elena. They nodded at him, and he left them during their heated make-out session.

Damon knocked on the door, and Rebekah answered.

"Here to see Kayla?" Bekah asked.

"Yes. May I come in?" Damon asked trying to be polite. She nodded and stepped aside. He walked in and went to Kayla's room. He walked in like it was his own room and she was sitting outside on the roof. He went out to join her.

"Hello Kayla. What's on your mind?" he asked noticing that she was looking troubled.

"Alot of things."

"Like what?"

"Why can't I have a normal life?" she asked finally able to ask someone. He was taken aback with her question.

"I don't know. I don't have any answers." he replied sighing wishing he did.

"I wish that I could know, because I want to know." she said sighing herself. She leaned in closer to him, and leaned against him. He wrapped an arm around her waist and held her close.

"I love you Damon." she whispered.

"I love you to Kayla." he whispered back and kissed the top of her head. She smiled, and snuggled up against him.

Elijah's POV

"We have to leave town." Bella said after getting out of her trance.

"Why?" I asked getting concerned.

"Tomorrow they are going to be hunting for us. We have to be on the move." she explained.

"Alright I will get Kayla to pack her things." I said getting up.

"Don't tell her why." she called after me.

"I won't." I called back and went upstairs to kayla's room. I opened the door and Kayla wasn't in here but I saw that her and Damon were on the roof part in front of her window.

"Kayla you need to start packing your things." I said making my appearance noticeable.

"Why?" she asked.

"Just please? We have to leave town."

And with that I left before she could ask why again. I got in our room to see Bella getting our stuff ready.

"Should we tell Stefan and Elena to start packing things up to?" I asked as I grabbed a few more packing bags, and started packing some clothes.

"Yes."

I dialed Elena's number.

"Hello?" she asked.

"Need you to start packing stuff to leave town." I said and hung up. I started to pack more of my things.
