Kayla's POV

Everybody was sitting in the living room, and it was deadly silent. I was worried that my dad was going to freak out at me. I hated it when he got mad at me. It wasn't very often that he gotten mad when it came to me. We barely ever fight, but ever since we had heard about the war, and moving to Mystic Falls, our fights have gotten worse.

"Dad?" I asked turning my head to face him. I saw that he was staring off into space.

"You know that I snooped a pregnancy test from the hospital." Bella whispered, and turned red. I raised an eyebrow at her, and giggled.

"Awww did someone want to be prepared?" I teased making her scowl at me. A few chuckles, and giggles filled the room, and that brightened up my mood. I looked at dad, and saw him smile. I started laughing.

"Dad's smiling!" I exclaimed grinning like a fool. He looked at me, and shook his head. I calmed down immediatly. I stopped smiling also. It got silent once more, and it was starting to get awkward.

I got up, and headed for the door so then I could think.

"Where are you going?" I heard my dad ask. I stopped, and turned around seeing him right behind me.

"A walk to clear my head." I whispered and bowed my head to hide the fear that was rising. I felt fingers under my chin, and forced my head up. It was dad.

"What's wrong?" he asked frowning. I stayed silent, and sighed.

"Kayla." he said sternly.

"Just let me go for a walk." I said quietly, while turning around, and out of his grasp. He sighed, and I opened the door. Looking behind me, I saw how sad he was. I started to feel bad, so I walked up to him, and hugged him. He hugged me back, and it sounded like he was about to break down. It was weird, but i've seen him cry before. It's not very often that he does either.

"Dad, I love you." I whispered feeling tears stinging my eyes.

"I love you too, Kayla." he whispered back.

"It might not be true daddy." I said as he took a deep breath, as if to calm himself.

"I know." he whispered still hugging me tight, but not tight enough to start choking me.

"If it isn't then be happy. I love kids, but I don't want any for a while." I assured him.

"Good, because I'm to young to be a grandpa." he joked causing me to giggle.

"Yeah by, like, a thousand years." I joked back, causing him to chuckle. We pulled away smiling.

"Well Isn't that sweet." the irritating voice, of Spike had said. I growled lowly, and turned around to see him behind me. He was smirking like he had won a prize. I heard dad growl, because Spike looked me up, and down like I was some sort of treat. Honestly it pissed me off. I started to feel anger flood in my chest.

"Oh relax kitten. I won't do anything because 'daddy' says no." he teased and walked out, leaving both dad, and I growling. Spike laughed and walked in the living room.

"Still want to go for a walk?" dad asked. I nodded, and we walked out of the door to cool down.

Kol's POV

"You do realize that one of these day someone will kill you, right?" I asked Spike. He shrugged causing me to scoff.

"We can't kill him. We sadly need him." Angel said, sighing. I sighed to, and Katherine kissed my cheek causing me to smirk.

"If you guys are going to do that, then please get a room." Bella said laughing. I rolled my eyes.

"Kind of like you, and Elijah?" I asked smirking. She stared at me in shock.
