Chapter 11 (part 1)

Princess Ember, still in her fox form, stood upon a pedestal in the middle of a circular room. Tables curved along the walls, and were littered with dozens of sewing supplies. Needles, cloth, ribbons, buttons, thread, and several other necessities lay scattered upon the tables in the sewing room of the castle. This place was in the tower, and only one window allowed the light of the sky in.  If one looked out of this window and upon the moor, it looked just like a patchwork of different shades of green. There are three seamstresses in the room right now, and they will be making an eloquent dress for Princess Ember. Now we will be listening in on what they say as they work on the newest dress. So there are three seamstresses: Alicia, Sue Ellen, and Haley.  They begin by laying out the material and thread, and planning out the pattern and design of the dress.

"Oh my dear, wouldn't silver and lavender go lovely together?" Sue Ellen exclaimed. Her dress slightly ruffled behind her as she presented the fabric to Haley and Alicia.

"Oh my, Yes!" Alicia replied. "What do you think, Princess?"

Ember smiled and nodded at the suggestion.

"Perfect!" Alicia exclaimed as she set the fabric over the Princesses back. "We know that ye just love those colors." They stuck pins into certain points of the dress, and they begin to stitch on different sides of the dress as they made small talk.

Suddenly, a messenger knocked at the door, and Alicia bounded out of the chair to answer the door. She took the letter from the carrier, bid him a good day, and, closing the door, came back to the sewing pedestal.

"It's for you, Sue Ellen." Alicia said as she handed the letter to her. Sue Ellen set the needle down, and slowly ripped the letter open. As she briskly scanned the letter she just took out, she softly gasped, as she put a hand over her mouth. She had already drawn attention to herself, and she knew her behavior would demand an explanation. She hung her head down slightly, even though she had tried to maintain her composure before the Princess and other maid servants.

"Are you all right?" Haley gently asked.

"I don't know." Sue Ellen replied as she brought the her hands up around her face.

"You can tell us." Alicia told her.

Silence hung in the atmosphere, and even Ember could sense something off. One may think a little problem is not worth talking about, but let's say you struggle with insecurities, depression, anxiety, or any thing else. These are real problems that should be talked about. Finding someone available to listen is so important, even if you just write it down to get it out of your head. So in this next part, I will describe some ways to overcome this. So we will say that this letter says that you deal with a hard problem that I don't know about, and you need help with it. So I conclude that anyone and everyone's problem is a problem, nothing less nothing more. I'm not saying all the problems are the same, but they are worth solving. I am also not saying that I know all the answers. I personally believe all are equal and are deserving when it comes to receiving help. I am not perfect, but I hope these things may help. So we pick up back here in the story.

"That is horrible!" Alicia exclaimed as she leaned forward to give you a hug.

" ______ is so hard to deal with, and I understand." Haley replied as she patted you on the back.

     "But what do I do?"

"Well, if you struggle with depression, anxiety, hurt, insecurity, the answer of comfort and healing is this: Picture a spiral stairway that goes to a dungeon. As you look down from where you stand it seems to go forever and get darker and darker. You don't want to stand staring at this stairway that leads to depression, hurt, insecurity, anxiety, etc... This is within your mind though, and how do you avoid it?" Haley began.

"Well, it occurs when you can only see your own problems." Alicia replied as she picked back up on her sewing buttons into the hem. "If you can only focus on your inner turmoil, or that staircase, it begins to overwhelm you." she said in a sweet voice.

"And when it does, it sets you into a habit of only seeing that problem, and it begins to consume your life." Haley said.

"So, your saying that if I don't focus on that problem, I might find happiness again?"

"Yes, now your getting it!" Alicia said.

"But what do I focus on?"

"Especially others and God. It helps relieve your mind of the pressures of your own problems. Sometimes you just have to put it in God's hands honey. Once you start focusing on others and God's love for you, the pain will eventually begin to dissipate, and so will that dark staircase, because you begin to see others and they begin to see you also. When you are there for others, they can help you in unimaginable ways. Sure it may still exist, but it won't be as prevalent when you are being there for others, and they are being there for you. Even if you just write it out, that can be a relief at times. You can also even take a walk, do an activity, play a sport, or whatever else brings you joy." Haley replied.

     "Hmmm. I'll consider it."

"That is good" Alicia and Haley said at the same time.

"So, there is something else that is also important." Alicia began anew as she tied of some stitches on the sleeve of the dress. "Haley, would you mind telling her?"

"I will tell the story under one condition." Haley said. "Only if you leave a comment about whether this was helpful to you."
