The storm that blew through the moors is now over, and everyone is rebuilding their communities including the castle. Princess Ember was assigned the opportunity to walk through the villages around the kingdom. She would basically check on the villagers and discern the amount of time it would take to recover. So, Princess Ember is in the coatroom with the servants and they are figuring out the order of her transportation and who should go with her.
"Your Majesty, will thou be taking the royal coach to the villages?" a male servant inquired.
Ember shook her head, as if implying 'no, I will not', and he seemed surprised by her reply.
"Thy wish is my command then." the servant replied uncertainly.
Ember wore a quite simple Emerald and white dress with nothing else but a diamond shape ember in the center of her white dress top. She negotiated with herself that she would just walk through the streets of the villages, and have a servant come with her to speak for her. It would be as simple as her dress she surmised, even though she had never done this before. Her parents always did it, and they would always take the royal carriage. This time though, she would do it for herself for the first time.
Sovereign Nathan and Mistress Mary finally gave up their search for the cure, and returned home in disappointment. The dark carriage rumbled down the dirt road that led to their manor, and little droplets of rain fell from the darkened sky.
Mistress Mary leaned against Sovereign Nathan's powerful arm, and he put his arm around her waist.
"Everything will be grand, my dear." Sovereign Nathan informed her.
"If you believe that." Mistress Mary replied forlornly. "But, our daughter- our only daughter- is a fox, but now maybe forever."
Sovereign Nathan shushed her, and caressed her face with his hand. "My, my, don't be so sad my dear, for I have an idea, and am quite sure it will work."
"I trust you." Mistress Mary replied.
