Chapter 24

Jeff kept running, but didn't say a word.

When we saw civilization, he slowed down and I started to panic. Jeff is a killer and I'm pretty sure people know that, so wouldn't people call the police or something?

"Where are we going?" I repeated impatiently.

He stayed silent, and threw his hood over his head.

"Jeff!" I whined.

"Shut up. I need to stay hidden here, and a girl with purple hair on my back isn't helping me." he growled silently.

Every time he would walk pass someone, he would tense up. Was it really that important that he not be noticed? I mean, for him, Jeff, to tense at the presence of humans in broad daylight. I don't know him that well, but I would imagine that it would be hard to scare him.

He entered a small and dimly lit motel on the outskirts of the city.

He walked up to the unclean man slumping at a desk staring at a computer.

With his head down he said,"Hey, I need a room for me and my woman."

I felt like smacking him then.

He handed him chipped gold painted key on a small ring that had the numbers "208" ingraved into it,"Here, try not to dirty the sheets too much." he slurred.

Oh, don't worry, I'm really clean when it comes to that." he smirked.

I slapped the side of his face as hard as I could.

"Ow, bitch." he muttered under his breathe. He headed to room 208 and inserted the key.

"Hey, Jeff?"

"What?" he responded walking through the door and revealing a ragged room. I instantly smelt the vile air built up inside.

"Are we going to get me medical attention?" I asked while carefully climbing off his back.

I looked around at the peeling wallpaper and the dust that was built up in the corner while waiting for his answer.

"No, we're not getting any attention. I have to lay low around here, so if that means you die slowly and painfully, then oh well." he said flatly closing the door behind him.

"I can feel the love." I growled sarcastically.

Jeff sat down on the bed and pushed his hood down revealing his unbrushed, greasy hair.

"Ew, you're sitting on that?" I asked disgusted.

"Yea, why?"

"Do you want me to get a black light?"

"Do you really think I care?" he responded slightly aggravated.

"Do you ever take showers?"

"Do you ever stop talking?" he yelled.

"Well, I wanna get some answers out of you people!" I retorted.

He sighed,"No, I don't take showers on a normal basis."

"Ew."

"My turn to ask a question." he said smiling deviously.

I narrowed my eyes but agreed, I knew somehow he was going to make a game with me along the way. "Okay, shoot."

"Do you find BEN attractive?" he questioned with amusement.

"Well, honestly, the no-eye-thing kinda freaks me out, and his tunic looks like a dress, but his long ears are adorable!"
