Grading Criteria

31 3 1

This will give you an idea of what the judges will be looking for. Keep this in mind while you're writing.

For prose:

Average reads per chapter - 5 pts

Number of votes - 5 pts

*note: the number of followers will be taken into account, as people with more followers will likely have more reads and votes. Also, reads and votes will be on a sort of "curve". For example, the person with the most will get 5 points, the person with the least will get 0 or 1 (haven't decided yet), and everyone else will score accordingly.

Overall impression - 5 pts

Depth of characters - 5 pts

Originality - 10 pts

Relevance to title - 10 pts

Diction and flow (i.e. how well-written it is) - 30 pts

Spelling and grammatical correctness - 30 pts

Total: 100 pts

For poetry:

Number of reads - 5 pts

Number of votes - 5 pts

*note: the number of followers will be taken into account, as people with more followers will likely have more reads and votes. Also, reads and votes will be on the same curve mentioned above.

Overall impression - 5 pts

Usage of devices - 5 pts

Originality - 10 pts

Relevance to title - 10 pts

Diction and flow (i.e. how well-written it is) - 30 pts

Spelling and grammatical correctness - 30 pts

Total: 100 pts

So the person with the most total points will win the grand prize. After them, the poetry entry and the prose entry with the next hightest points will win first place.
