Chapter 14
Elsa stayed by her father’s side as his breathing became shallower and finally stopped altogether, her tears streamed down her cheeks and landed on her father’s hand that she was holding while his lifeless blind eyes gazed up at the chandelier hanging from the ceiling high above their heads. Elsa continued to cry as the grief consumed her, she was so alone. Her sister hated her, she was an orphan and she still had to try and put on a brave face for her kingdom since she already knew that if she were to fall apart then so would Erendelle and that wasn’t something that she was going to let happen. Determination filled her as she slowly rose to her feet, she gently closed Lord Enver’s eyes and glided out of the room to tell the guards the tragic news. Elsa knew that she needed to be strong for her kingdom but she also knew that in time she had to sort things out with Ayla.
Meanwhile Ayla had marched outside, ‘Kasai’ she hollered and within seconds the majestic black and orange dragon swooped down in front of her and lowered his head as a mark of respect for his Fire Queen. Ayla had no time for talking, she just climbed onto Kasai’s back and remained silent, luckily Kasai knew that she wanted to go home so with a few flaps of his wings he had risen into the air and had begun soaring towards Volcano Mountain. The fire palace soon came into view and the moment Kasai landed Ayla jumped off and marched into the palace leaving fiery footsteps in her wake. ‘Your majesty are you alright?’ Kasai asked as he made his way into the throne room where Ayla was pacing up and down with a ferocious look on her face.
‘She killed my papa. She froze his heart, everyone knows that’s instant death. How could she be so stupid. I tried to save him’ by the end of it she was screaming and scorching tears cascaded over her cheeks and fell to the floor just as she fell to her knees and sobbed. Ayla couldn’t believe it. She had lost both her mother and her father in a matter of two days. She had been banished and now all she could think about was getting revenge on Elsa for what she had done to their papa.
As Ayla glanced up, her tears stopped and that little bit of kindness and compassion that was left in her heart hardened over. The only emotion that was left was hatred. Ayla rose to her feet and glanced out of the window in the direction of Erendelle ‘you will regret the day you messed with the Fire Queen, Elsa’ she hissed as she rose both of her hands up and swiped them in front of her causing a wall of fire to erupt from the ground and began moving towards Erendelle, destroying everything in its path.
Ayla would sleep soundly that night in her new fire palace and with the knowledge that by the time she was finished with Elsa there would be nothing stopping her from getting the crown and ruling Erendelle as the rightful Queen.
