Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Everywhere Elsa looked there were ashes from trees that had been burnt down and small flames that lingered here and there. It looked like a battlefield.

But at least the burning embers showed Elsa the direction in which she was supposed to go, she gently tugged on the reins but her horse refused to move ‘come on girl’ Elsa prompted gently digging her heels into the horses side but still it didn’t want to move so Elsa eventually admitted defeat and climbed off the horse. She stroked its nose before sending it on its way, within a flash the horse was galloping back towards the castle while Elsa stood in the middle of nowhere looking around.

Then there came a deafening screech from high above her but when Elsa looked up she couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw a black and orange scaly dragon soaring high in the sky; it’s gaze locked on hers then it screeched out a fireball. The dragon plummeted down to earth causing Elsa to let out a cry of her own as she began running to try and get away from the great winged beast but she quickly stumbled on a fallen tree and before she could get to her feet the dragon pinned her to the floor with its talons.

‘State your business’ the dragon’s voice boomed ‘I… I’m here to see my s… sister, Ayla’ Elsa stuttered in fright ‘so you are Queen Elsa of Erendelle, I would bow but you have no control over me. Your sister does not wish to see you’ the dragon lifted its claws away and took a step backwards allowing Elsa a few precious seconds to scurry to her feet. ‘I’m not leaving without her, she’s the only one who can save our father’ Elsa cried which got the dragon’s attention, ‘and why would the Fire Queen wish to help you both after what you did’ ‘I’ve already apologised enough to her but my father will turn to stone if she doesn’t remove her burning embers from his eyes. I can’t lose my mother and my father in the space of two days’ Elsa lowered her head in grief.

‘I will take you to the Fire Queen’s palace but I will not protect you from her’ on that note the great dragon began walking away with Elsa closely following behind.
