**Aaron's POV** 7
I texted her Thursday afternoon.
"To Cal: can we talk?"
"From Cal: no."
"To Cal: please Cali? Come over tonight. I have so much explaining to do."
I figured tonight would be good because my parents would be out to dinner. I really just wanted to talk to her alone.
"From Cal: fine. I'll be over at 7:30."
I was nervous, but I figured we had to talk at some point. At exactly 7:30, Cali walked in. She took off her coat and shoes, which were soaking wet. She crossed her arms.
"Okay I'm here. Start talking." She said angrily.
"Cal, Zoe never texted me. I made it up. I was trying to get out of whatever was going on between us, or get you to stop liking me. You are the first girl I've felt this strongly about, but I didn't want to ruin the friendship. I don't know what I would do without you in my life. I was trying to save us both the heartache, but it didn't work at all. I'm so stupid. I'm such a jerk. I just want to help you, but I always hurt you instead."
"You got that right." She said. Her eyes were glassy. "Aaron you broke my heart so badly. I hate you so much. And the worse part? Through all this, all I want is to be in your arms." A tear trailed down her cheek. She stomped her foot. "And now I'm crying. Great." I stepped closer and wiped the tear from her face.
"Cal. Please don't cry. It hurts me to see you cry." She tried to keep calm, but it just made it worse. She sunk to her knees so I picked her up and carried her to the couch. She broke down in my arms. After a while she calmed down, her head rested on my chest. I leaned down to whisper in her ear. "I think I love you, Cali Laker." She looked up.
"Really?"
"Mhm." She sat up on my lap and leaned in so that our foreheads were touching. "You are so beautiful." I mumbled. She traced lines on my thighs and grabbed my arms, putting them on her waist. I frowned. "For goodness sakes, kiss me already. Stop teasing." She smiled and slammed her lips into mine. I kissed back, not wanting it to be gentle.
She sighed and I pulled her as close as possible. She ran her hands through my hair and tugged like she had that first night in LA. A small moan escaped my mouth and I squeezed her waist tighter. She made it so hard to even think straight. It drove me crazy.
She curled up next to me and I turned on the TV. A few minutes later, Cali was sound asleep on my lap.
"Goodnight, gorgeous." I whispered.
**Cali's POV**
Aaron shook me awake, and I looked at the clock. It was 10 at night.
"C'mon, Cal. I'll walk you home." He told me. I tiredly got up and grabbed my coat and shoes. It was cold and still a bit rainy outside. He wrapped his arms around me to keep me warm. We walked up to my front door. Before I went inside, he looked at me. "Can I come in for a sec?" He asked. I nodded. We went inside, and I took off all my wet gear. I walked into the living room with Aaron by my side. My parents were sitting on the couch, watching TV.
"Ah! There you are, Cali. And hello, Aaron. Nice to see you!" My dad exclaimed.
"Hi, Mr and Mrs. Laker." Aaron replied with a smile.
"What brings you in tonight?" My mom asked him.
"Oh, well Cal came over for a bit, so I figured I'd walk her home." He told them. My parents nodded.
"Thank you, Aaron. That's very kind of you." My mom said.
"It's no problem. And I...uh...actually need to ask you something, Mr. Laker." He said, turning to my dad. My dad nodded, encouraging him on. "I wanted to know if it was okay if I asked Cali to be my girlfriend." I was surprised. I didn't expect that at all, and the fact that he had the nerve to ask my dad was so cute.
Both of my parents smiled. They loved Aaron, and I knew they both approved.
"Of course." My dad told him with a grin. Aaron smiled at me and gave me a hug. He waved goodnight to us, and kissed me on the cheek.
Then I went upstairs and crawled into bed, still grinning.
