Chapter 7: The truth revealed

Spider-Man and the others looked at Daredevil as he took off his gloves. Stick had revealed that Daredevil was hiding something... and now they were about to learn what it was. Daredevil took off his mask and sighed, not sure the others were ready to hear this.
"I was willing to work with you. But how can I trust you?" Danny asked.
"Yeah Matt. Danny's right. How can we trust you if you are still hiding something from us?" Spider-Man added. Spider-Man and the others walked up to Matt.
"Her name is Elektra. She was raised by him (Matt pointed at Stick). Trained to fight the Hand, which she did... with me. That is until they convinced themselves she could serve another purpose and killed her" Matt explained. Jessica looked at Matt with disbelief.
"She looked pretty alive back therr" Jessica pointed out.
"I know, but I was there when they..." Matt started before he stopped and sighed.
"When they took her out. Yeah... I know how that goes... being there when someone you love died" Spider-Man replied, remembering when he held his Uncle Ben in his arms as he faded.
"I was holding her when she died" Matt said, remembering his fierce final battle with the revived and stronger than ever Nobu. Danny looked shocked at this.
"Elektra died. That thing we've been fighting, it's something else." Stick replied. Danny looked at Stick and gave a slight nod when he said that.
"She was resurrected" Danny said in realization. Luke looked at Danny in disbelief.
"Wait... she was what?" Spider-Man asked, not because he was confused... but because it was in shock. Jessica put a hand on his shoulder.
"We've all been through some weird stuff, but I think this one takes the cake kid" Jessica told Spider-Man, who nodded in agreement. Danny turned his attention back to Matt.
"How come you didn't tell us?" Danny asked. Luke, like Spider-Man, was also in disbelief at what he was hearing.
"Wait a minute. What do you mean, 'resurrected'?" Luke asked. Matt wasn't sure how to explain it.
"His ex girlfriend was brought back to life. Now he thinks he can save her" Stick explained. Luke turned his attention to Matt again.
"That's why you nearly got us killed?" Luke asked in outrage.
"When I said her name, she recognized it. She knew me. I think whatever they did when they resurrected her, I think I can get through to her." Matt explained.
"Okay to be clear, we've now used the word 'resurrected' three times" Jessica pointed out.
"It's what they do" Stick replied. Spider-Man looked at Stick.
"They try to cheat death by reviving themselves again and again?" Spider-Man asked.
"Exactly" Stick replied.
"I don't think even Mr. Stark will believe this one" Spider-Man's suit AI Karen told Peter.
"Neither do I" Spider-Man replied. Jessica wrote a mental note to ask about why his suit talked later. Danny however kept glaring at Matt.
"We agreed to put everything on the table, Matt." Danny pointed out with anger.
"If we're gonna defeat the Hand, we gotta take her out" Stick said. Matt shook his head.
"No, Stick. I won't allow it" Matt replied.
"Matt, dude I hate to say it... but we might not have another choice... and I'm one of those superheroes that has a no kill rule" Spider-Man pointed out.
"Look Matt, do you know how hard this is to believe?" Luke asked.
"It doesn't matter what you believe, at the end of the day, whatever she is... she's a problem" replied Stick walking past Matt.
"Lying is a problem" Jessica added.
"I didn't wanna lie. I was trying to protect her." Matt pointed out.
"As much as I understand that man, you protecting her is putting this city in more danger" Spider-Man said.
"Not only that, but now I got the people I care about held up in a police precinct because you got me protecting some woman you used to know" snapped Luke.
"Don't oversimplify it Luke. I'm trying to help" Matt replied. Sowande woke up during the growing argument and started to make his move to escape. Sowande was able to grab a knife and cut himself lose from the chair he was tied to.
"The truth is simple Murdock" Jessica started to say as the ringing sound came back to Spider-Man's head... as if focused on something.
"Danny, behind you!" Spider-Man said and Danny turned to see Sowande walking toward them and Danny punched him. However Sowande dodged, Danny threw another punch but Sowande used Danny's momentum to throw him off balance and spin so that his back was facing Sowande. Sowande grabbed Danny, which caught the attention of the others who rushed to fight Sowande.
"Don't move" Sowande commanded. Spider-Man and the others stopped when they saw Sowande had the knife he used to break the ropes he was tied up with, now held near Danny's neck.
"Let's not kid each other. This is personal for every one of us. But now I have the Iron Fist, the key to what the Hand seeks. The key to life, to our salvation. The war is over" Sowande said smugly and started to walk away with Danny. However Sowande forgot about Stick, who snuck over to his side and sliced Sowande's head off with his sword, causing Spider-Man and Luke to wince, and Jessica's mouth hung open in shock.
"Oh..." Luke said.
"Holy crap!" Spider-Man added. Stick turned his head to Spider-Man and the others as if he could see them.
"The war isn't over yet" retorted Stick. The now dead Sowande dropped Danny and fell to the floor, his head rolling away from his body.
"Oh that is creepy" Spider-Man said, turning away from the sight.
"War is war kid" Stick replied.
