"Alderson!" Someone exclaims and all of a sudden I feel myself shiver. Someone is... hugging me.

"Oh... I forgot about your no-physical-contact policy," Jayden says, biting her lip out of feeling nervous, "Sorry."

I clear my throat and place my hands in my pockets. I give her a half smile, "It's alright." I look to my right, while she looks to hers, both scanning the sides of the huge room that had tall and buffed-up guards standing still.

They give us stares and glares. Jayden shouldn't have hugged-

"So, let's play!" Jayden says happily and walks over to an empty table with two chairs placed opposite each other. We play chess everyday when we meet in the day room. It is our way of... getting to know each other.

She's happy whenever she's around me, it's an observation of mine. I'm good at observing things... things that not everyone would see. Whenever we leave the dayroom, she frowns. It's discreet, like one change in a line of code that goes unnoticed... by most people, except me. I notice every-

"Your turn Eli! I want to beat our best time," Jayden rubs her hands together and grins. I sit up in my seat and examine the chess board, moving my fourth pawn from the left two spaces ahead.

'Eli'. She has a nickname for me. Is that normal? Do friends usually have nicknames for each other? I won't know, I don't have that many friends. Shayla... she was my friend but she...

I look to the floor, furrowing my eyebrows and fidgeting with my hands. Jayden notices and asks, "Eli, what's wrong?" She places her hand on mine and I feel sparks of sensation disperse through my body.

She notices, again. She really is like me.

"Gosh, I should really stop doing that," She snatches her hand away and rubs her palms, "It's just my way of comforting people, sorry."

I look up to her, straight into her eyes. "You don't need to apologise," I tell her and rub my face, "I'm fine, let's play." She nods her head, the concerned look never leaving her face.

"... And then I escaped with the USB tucked cozily in my jacket pocket," She smirks and holds a fist up in victory. I smile slightly, constantly looking at the chess game layed out infront of us.

"Seducing that guy was honestly hell, it was so bad Elliot. You can't begin to imagine," She shakes her head and sighs, "I was not prepared to leave that place without getting what I went there for."

"You're smart, you're bound to succeed... J-Jay," I say the last part hesitantly and she smirks. "Using nicknames, are we? I thought you weren't the bonding kind Eli," She laughs, a sound I've grown to like. The use of a nickname sends shivers throughout my body, I have no clue why it has this effect on me.

"Well I guess you'll need to hack me to find out my secrets," I tease and she raises her eyebrow. "Lucky for me, I can use the computers. It's sucks to be you, doesn't it?" She snickers and I shake my head with a smile playing on my lips.

"It must be aching you," She leans closer towards the table, stressing on the word 'aching', "Your fingers must be itching... itching to find out someone's deepest and darkest secrets and desires. I know the drive Elliot but you can't satisfy it, ha!"

I glare at her, she isn't making me feel any better even though she is only joking. I begin to tap the back of my hand with my fingers, the act feels as if I am typing on a computer keyboard.
