13 hours later, 7:00 AM...

My eyes open up slowly, I feel weakness throughout my body. The sleep was supposed to be satisfying but I'm not sure...

Everyone's probably sleeping. It's pretty early, given the time being 1:00 A-

I look at my phone, shocked at the time. It's 7:00 AM and Jayden and I slept for a LONG time.

Jayden. Where's Jayden?!

"El... What's wr... wrong?" I hear her ask hoarsely. I turn to look at her and find that she had her arms wrapped around mine, breathing slowly and sleeping peacefully.

I sigh, slithering out of her grip cautiously to not wake her up. Feeling a sudden chill of wind, I put on my hoodie and walk out of the room.

It's satisfying to find that you finally reach your destination after walking a long journey. Jayden and I had reached home yesterday at 6:00 PM. I guess the exhaustion and satisfaction that we were successful suddenly washed over us and we... passed out. We didn't bother changing our clothes or sleeping on separate beds. The first place we saw and we were asleep.

I walk into the main room, finding no one present though one of the computers on the desk was switched on. I walk towards it and-

Someone covers my eyes. If I had lost the sense of touch I would think that I have gone blind.

I hold the person's hands and remove them from over my eyes. I turn around to find Darlene grinning, she pushes my shoulder playfully.

"Good morning Elliot! How was your sleep, my great and powerful brother?" She asks and skips along towards the switched on computer. She plants her hands on the desk and bends forward, examining the contents on the screen.

"It was fine I guess," I reply, shrugging and placing my hands in my hoodie pockets. I walk towards my sister to see what she's doing.

"I'm just tracing the virus back step by step to see how it spread," She explains and I nod my head. Why don't I help her with the task?

I take my laptop out of my backpack and place it on the table. I open it up and press the START button, watching it boot up. I patiently stare at the Windows logo loading.

"So, you in need of some breakfast?" Darlene asks and I look to her. I shrug, not feeling that hungry. I look back to my computer screen-

I look back to my computer screen-

The blue screen of death.

Shit.

I straighten myself in my seat and go through the settings. Once I click the RESTART option, I watch the screen closely. I can't help but feel disturbed. I need to know what went wrong.

I'll run my program to trace the start up process on my laptop.

I enter my password and open up CMD, then open my program. I enter the commands to run the track for process and wait as I analyse the lines of code.
