11:31 AM...
It's spooky, no doubt. No one's around and there's shards of glass from the broken windows everywhere. Jayden had spotted some patches of blood earlier, leaving both of us with anxiety.
She stays close to me while we cautiously walk ahead. Even though the sun's at its peak, it's dark in here... in the servers building.
It's a large block of concrete on the outskirts of the city, next to a now dysfunctional factory that makes hard drives.
Whenever stepping ahead, I carefully place my foot to make sure that I don't grab attention by stepping on the shards of glass that-
BLAST!
I turn around in shock at the loud noise, Jayden grabs my arm in fright. "W-What was that?!" She whispers, keeping close to me.
I walk ahead, pulling her with me. I find glass pieces scattered on the floor, above was a burned out bulb holder. "The heat must have made the bulb explode," I look around then nod slightly, "It's this way. The servers should be here somewhere."
She takes a deep breath and nods her head. Jayden slides her hand down my arm and holds my hand tightly.
I look at her with and smile slightly. I know that she feels alarmed easily, she doesn't like unexpected situations and outcomes.
I tighten my grip on her hand, to comfort her, and she looks at me with a questioning expression. I shrug it off then start walking ahead and taking a right turn, with Jayden by my side.
As I walk, the sound of screeching metal fans as they turn grew louder, telling me that the servers are right about here somewhere.
We walk through a tunnel, pipes and wires trail along the ceiling.
We approach a door, a locked one and I sulk. I peer through the glass window to look to the other side. A smile appeared on my lips.
"There, the servers are on the other side," I say and Jayden nods, looking through the window as well. I spot a fire extinguisher conveniently placed to the side of the corridor.
I pick it up and grip it tightly in my hands. I tell Jayden to step away and shield herself. I swing my arms back and throw the fire extinguisher at the window, the sound of glass shattering and the metal object crashing to the floor was deafening.
Once everything had calmed down, I looked to Jayden to see if she was alright. Apart from being a little paranoid, she was okay.
I stick my hand through the now broken window and unlock the door from the other side. I push down the handle and walk through, Jayden follows behind me.
The server room is fascinating. I mean, it's like any other but this one is ten times the size. Panels and shelves of routers and connectors are present in aisles as far as the eye could see.
"Shit Elliot," Jayden frowns and I sigh.
This is going to be tough.

Hours went by but we finally find the main brain and mind of this place. It controls our capability to access probably the greatest invention in history, the internet.
I plug in the necessary cables I had brought with me into my laptop while Jayden keeps an eye on the activity happening on the external device placed on a rack. It has blinking lights and knobs that notify us of whether the device is online or not.
I could have come alone to this place, it is a one-man job but I like having the company. I'd probably go crazy if I didn't have Jayden by my side.
