The only bad thing about being in a library is that it is easy to get caught up in your thoughts. There are so many unmentionables that I just want to forget. Like one time I got so angry at this boy when I was in sixth grade, I stabbed a pencil through his calf. It was horrible yet sweetly intoxicating. Like my sister.
I snicker a little to myself at the thought of Jamie and her strange tendecies. Everyone thinks she is a lunatic but I know all she wants to do is help me. She's the best sister any girl could ever have. Especially me. I needed Jamie. She is my bestfriend and pesky advisor.
I honestly believe Jamie could be a wonderful actress with how she has everyone believing that she's some type of lunatic witch who has nothing better to do than put curses on people just for her amusementl.
My phone buzzes
(From Jamie)
Stop thinking about me! I'm having a sneezing fit over here...
(To Jamie)
How did you know?..?
(From Jamie)
Aren't I just naturally on everyone's mind? :/
(To Jamie)
No. You're just conceded.
(From Jamie)
Well it isn't a bad thing..... :D. If I could make a menacing face on this damn phone I would. Goodbye now. I'm going bakk to bed.
(To Jamie)
WELL HAVE A NICE NAP!!
(From Jamie)
Stop yelling woman. Ugh!
I laugh as I slide my phone back into my pocket. Yeah, that girl is definetly my bestfriend even though there is 3 year age difference between us. Plus, she'd never admit to it anyway.
"Hey Rose?" I look up to see Mrs. Wilkes looking at me nervously.
I close my book. "Yes ma'am?"
"I was wondering if you'd accept a job here at the library," Mrs. Wilkes smiles sweetly at me.
"Really?" I ask. I've been trying to get a job for over a year now but, no one ever wanted to hire me because of my condition. Did I ever mention that I'm bipolar? Well I am and it sucks! It was so bizarre to be offered a job. It was actually king of an amazing feeling.
"Yes really! You're so kind and tender with the books and this is practically your second home so you know where everything is," Mrs. Wilkes explains.
"I don't know about this--you do know about my mental illness, right?" I circle my finger around my ear in the universal "crazy" sign.
"Oh pish posh....Who gives a flyng flipper about what type of illness you have. You're perfect for the job and I wouldn't have it any other way. So say yes to this dear old woman. Or do I have to get on my knees?" Mrs. Wilkes smiles at me.
"Ok. I'll take the job," I smile back at her and she jumps out her chair squeezing me tightly in a hug.
I open the front door with a happy skip in my step. "This is so awesome!" I screech making my way over to Jamie's room to share the good news.
"Shh..! Shut up! Shut up!" Jamie yanks her room door open and pulls me inside roughly. She shuts the door quickly behind me.
My eyes widen in disbelief at the spectacle before me.
Liam laid unconscious on Jamie's bed.
"What did you do? Kidnap him?" I whisper loudly.
"No! He was in the house and he scared me so I just gave him a kiss on the back of his skull with Captain Howdy," Jamie points to the corner where a discarded baseball bat lays.
"You named your bat Captain Howdy?" I look at her.
"I like it. Like Captain Howdy from the Exorcist. Now its a possesed bat!" Jamie explains entusiastically.
"Sorry I asked. It was completely irrelevant," I mumble looking back to where Liam lays looking innoccent.
"Want to dig through his pockets and steal his identity?" Jamie claps her hands.
"I already know who he is," I mutter walking over to the bed and touching his cheek gently. "This is Liam the boy I was telling you about."
"Oh really!?" Jamie skips over, removes my hand, and slaps Liam hard across the face.
Liam jumps up from the bed and looks around wildly. "There's some horsesh!t crazy girl swinging bats around!" He shrieks. Then stops keeping his gaze on me.
"Hmm......if it isn't my beautiful, sadistic, lying, tease of an angel," Liam smiles cockily at me and laughs at my slight blush. "How about another kiss?"
"How about another kiss from Captain Howdy?" Jamie jumps in clapping her hands happily.
"Crazy girl with bat?" Liam smiles.
"Yup! That's me," Jamie holds out her hand.
Liam takes her hand with a laugh, "Nice to meet you. I'm Captain Howdy's wife."
