Picture of Danielle Campbell as Jamie------>> She looks a little too innoccent if you ask me. But she will do for now

You have got to be kidding me!? It seems like my day is endless. I pull the hood to my sweatshirt up and shove my hands deep into the pockets of my jeans.

The bell rings ending class and I wait for everyone to drift out of the classroom. Once the class is empty I make my way into the already crowded hallway. I avoid all means of eye contact. I never raise my eyes from my lime green converse. I make my way to my first afternoon class of the day, searching for my classroom trying to keep my gaze down as much as possible.

A shoulder knocks into mine softly and I glance up.

"Hello stranger," Liam smirks down at me and I grimace.

"No hello?"

"Go away," I stop in front of my classroom.

"Well that was rude," Liam extends his arm ahead of me and opens the door.

"In we go." He gestures me inside.

"We?"

"Yep, we're in the same class aren't you happy?" Liam claps stupidly.

I don't comment and I shove past him and into the room. I pick a seat all the way in the back and place my head down on the desk.

I glance over at Liam who picks a seat right beside me with a big goofy grin on his face.

"Everyone be quiet," My teacher Dr. Simms says entering the classroom. She drops a thick planner down on the desk and plops down into her seat. She pulls the pins out of her tight red bun and fluffs out her hair. "Am I crazy or is this the longest day ever?"

I grunt in agreement. "Preach on, preach on," I mutter into the desk and I can hear Liam chuckling from his seat. I flash my desk a quick grin at his chuckle then put a grim expression back on.

"Sh!t!" Dr. Simms jumps up knocking over her chair and I peek up at her through my arms that my head rests against on my desk. "There's a rat in here! I just may kill myself before the end of this year. I can't work in this filth!"

How very professional of her. I snicker at my own sarcasm even though it wasn't even mildly humorous.

I close my eyes. Which was a really bad idea because the next thing I know is that I am fast asleep.

{Beginning of dream-may be a little cliche}

I could smell sulfur in the air. My nostrils were being assaulted with the smell and I gagged. My body curled into itself on the cold floor. Something was burning. It smelt like flesh. I risked opening my eyes and when I did, I fell. I was falling through grass and dirt. I wasn't just falling I was being dragged and pulled by burnt hands.

I let a scream out of my raw throat.

"Help me!" I scream. The Earth below me shakes and rumbles. It splits in half, my feet fell into the abyss first and I was being dragged again. I tried to grab the sides but, I was only gripping loose dirt and it came off in clumps.

"No!" Then suddenly I can't breathe. Water fills my mouth, I try to take in a big gulp of air but, only water fills my lungs.. I thrash as the hands still drag me. My eyes start to burn with the loss of oxygen.

Suddenly I hit a cold linoleum floor and I choke on water as I spit it out of my clogged throat.

"She's not my daughter," My mother's ears fill the defeaning silence.

"Mom?"

"I don't want her. Take her back," she repeats. She isn't talking to anyone. She's just staring into the darkness of the building. "She's not my daughter," She repeats.

"Mom?" I try to stand up but, I'm strapped down in a bed with by my wrists and ankles. "What's going on?"

"I tried my best!" Jamie's voice is loud and raspy as her screams fill the room. "I tried my best, I tried my best. Itriedmybest, Itriedmybest," Her words start to collide. Electricity courses through my body. I back arches up off the bed.

"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you," voices and blank faces fill the room. I don't know who these people are. Everything is happening so fast. "Happy birthday freak!" A faceless boy holds a gun to my head and them.......

(end of dream. Or should I say nightmare? }:O)

I gasp and look around the room. The walls are covered with colorful posters about taking care of your teeth and good hygeine. Infirmary?

"Rose?" My eyes fall on Jamie and Liam who were conversing in a corner.

"What's going on?" I ask trying to shake off the last bits of the horrible nightmare.

"Thank god you're okay!" Jamie throws herself ontop of me and hugs me tightly.

"Breathing would be nice right about now," I mutter into her air and she loosens her grip on my ribs.

"Are you okay?" Liam plops himself into a chair beside the bed with a look of severe concern in his face. "We had to bring you to the nurse because you wouldn't wake up. Plus, you were screaming. Not a normal scream-"

"-It was a blood curdling scream. It was enough to make my stomach curl. "Jamie cuts Liam. "I'm scared Rose. Was it a nightmare?"

I look away from her depressing face as my dream comes back to me. "It was worse than a nightmare." I look from Jamie to Liam. I don't like the way he's looking at me. I don't like him seeing me like this. "Get out please," I beg him and he looks at me shocked.

"What?"

"Get out!" I growl at him.

"Rose he's just trying to help," Jamie tells me laying a comforting hand on my arm.

I give her a deadly glare.

"It's okay Jamie I'll leave," He stands. "But only if can convince me that you're okay."

Jamie scoots off of me. "I'm fine." I say through clenched teeth.

"How do I know you aren't lying?" He questions.

"You're annoying," I snap at him.

"You suck at convincing so I guess I will be staying a little longer," Liam makes himself comfortable in his chair again and a tear drops down my cheek as I glare at him.

Jamie looks nervously from Liam to me and then back again. It's like she's playing ping pong with her eyes.

"Is it love?" She whispers dramatically with a huge smirk on her face. I swear that she's the bipolar one sometimes. "Or is it hate? Can these two teens fighting their intense attraction for each other come together and become one or will their denial be the end of them?"

"Shut up!" I throw a pillow at her at the same time Liam throws his shoe.

"It looks like they are in the denial stage right now. The world hopes they can clear the smoke and see whats right in front of them," Jamie giggles talking into her invisible microphone as she dodges the items thrown at her.

"Brat," I mumble as Liam mumbles something incoherent.
