(Y/n)'s P.O.V
I thought for a minute, looking between all the cups. I pointed at the one cup in the middle. Aliana lifts the cup. Lone behold, it was empty. I drop to my knees in a sob, looking at the empty cup. My hands act on their own, grabbing the cup she just lifted and turning it around a few times.
"No. No no no no no. NO! This can't be right!" I cry, looking back at the brunette. Pity laced her face as she comes over to my broken form and pats me on the back.
"Hey, a deal's a deal. I can't go back on my word. I'm sorry, but it has to be done." She says, sorrow plastered into her words.
"THIS IS YOUR FAULT, YOU DID ALL OF THIS!" I throw my finger in her direction.
"I did nothing, it was completely up to you. Nothing was my choice, everything that lead up to this moment and more was and is your choice. So don't blame shit on me, I'm just doing my job. Technically, I didn't even have to let you try to get your life back." Aliana said, glaring at me.
"You're mourning and angry, trying to find someone to take the blame. I can feel it. I understand. But you need to collect yourself. Now is a time to be strong." She sighs, crouching down to my level.
"Can I ha-ve a good-dbye? One l-ast one?" I choke out the words behind my tears.
"Fine. You have 5 minutes. Make it quick." She sighs, snapping her fingers. I'm brought back into consciousness, looking at Mark across from me.
"Mark." I say, holding back a sob.
"(Y/n), you're awake again." Mark smiles, wrapping his arms around me. The action alone makes me burst into tears knowing that was the last hug I'd ever receive from him.
"What happened?" He asks, ruffling my hair gently. I lean forward and press my lips to his, tangling my hand in his hair. Mark reluctantly replies, moving his lips with mine as salty tears run down my face.
"Look, I'm not complaining, but what was that for?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. I fall into his lap, heavily sobbing.
"Mark, I need you to listen to me and listen hard. I'm not going to be around anymore. I love you so, so, so, so much and you need to find a way home for me. I'll be with you, but you need to do that." I choke out, wrapping my arms around his waist.
"Where are you going? You can't exactly leave the plane-oh. Wait, hold on, wait what? Why?" He asks, tears threatening to spill from his brown eyes.
"The disease, infection, poisoning, whatever it is. It's been killing me slowly. It's time for me to go, the infection has reached it's peak. Know that I love you so much and to never forget me." I say, grabbing his hand.
"I love you too (Y/n) and never in a million years would I dream about forgetting you." He says, stroking my hair. A puff of smoke comes out of the air, revealing Aliana, holding her tea cup in her hand.
"Yo bruv, it's time to go." She said, looking at her watch.
"Ok, I'll tell him. Wait, you tell him." I said, doing a double take.
"He can't see me, I'm only visible in this realm to you and the other Gate Keepers." She said, tapping her watch. I nodded, looking back at Mark. I lay facing up in his lap, looking at his face as he cries. I swipe my finger across his tears and wipe them away.
"I love you so much." I say, caressing his face. My vision starts tracing in and out.
"I love you too, (Y/n)." He says, closing his eyes in acceptance. My eyes stop seeing light and my heart beats, one last time. Then, on this day, I, (Y/n) (M/n) (L/n), died.

(Y/n) P.O.V
I woke up in the same room I was in 5 minutes ago, sitting in a chair with Aliana.
"I know you need time, but we have to discuss your afterlife placement. There are 3 possible realms to be put in. Alba, the luxurious after life, Vivamus, the godly after life, and Dolor, the painful after life. If you committed many sins, you're going to Dolor. If you have been a decent human being, Abla is your realm. If you have been a perfect child and adult, you have to option to be admitted into Vivamus." She said, pointing at places in the white room while saying each realm.
"Well, where am I going?" I ask, propping an eyebrow.
"Let me take a look at your files.." The brunette says, snapping her fingers to make a laptop appear. She taps on it a few times, checking her sources.
"Ooooo...Er...Um, you're going to um...Dolor." She says, twisting her laptop around. A bunch of statistics pop up, the ones standing out the most being:
(Y/n) (M/n) (L/n)
Percentage: 69%
Grade: D
Realm: Dolor
"Are you kidding?" I say, face palming.
"You're stuck with eternal hell, literally." She says, biting her lip.
"What was so bad for me to get into Dolor?" I snap, looking at Aliana.
"Um, all of this." She snaps her fingers again, making hundreds, maybe even thousands of video clips of me fucking up some way or another.
"Can I get out of Dolor somehow?" I ask, silently begging for something to work.
"You can become a Gate Keeper. Trust me, my records not that clean either. That's why I'm a gate keeper. It's almost like a rehabilitation for people who were supposed to go to Dolor. You can work your record to be squeaky clean, but it takes a long time. I've been 3 people's gate keepers, and I only have gained 1.03% back on my record." She says, sheepishly scratching her neck.
"So I only have to be a gate keeper 3 times for me to get into Alba!" I say, excited to get out of anything like hell.
"It's not that simple. The catch, well, second catch, is that you can't work until Alba. If you become a gate keeper, you can retire when you can go into Vivamus." Aliana states, shaking her head.
"Anything to get out of Dolor." I laugh. She snaps her fingers, making a contract appear out of the air with a ballpoint pen.
"This basically says all the catches and that if you quit before you can retire, you will be sent to Dolor, no matter your percentage. You work until you have a 100% grade on your record, nothing less." She states, handing me the pen. I hover over the signature line, hesitating for a moment, then signing. The contract and pen disappear and Aliana gets up with a smile.
"Great choice! Now, lets go to the nursery to get you your first job!" She says, opening the door from her office and holding it for me. I walk through, ready to start work as a gate keeper.

Mark's P.O.V
The one person, my star in the night sky, the person I could talk to any time, just died in my lap. I silently sob, cradling her body in my arms. My body wants to just shut down and do nothing, but I can't do that. I lift her body gently, place it on our bed, and kiss her forehead. Turning around, I think of all the memories of her, and push them out of my mind. I glance back at (Y/n) one last time before turning around.
"I have so much work to do."
