Emily up top.
The larger black wolf glanced over his shoulder giving Hazel a confused look.
"Hazel! You are supposed to run away from danger not towards it!" Emily shouted running after Hazel.
"I have to help my mate. I can't let him get killed. I know Karate! I learned karate so I could save my werewolf mate and I wouldn't have to be a useless mate that always needs saving!" Hazel screamed as she ran.
"So all those sports, outdoor activities, and karate were in case you meet a werewolf!" Emily shouted wheezing slightly.
"Werewolf MATE" Hazel corrected her.
"Stop running so we can talk about this!" Emily panted.
"No! My mate is about to fight a rouge!" Hazel shouted.
"YOU DON'T HAVE A WEREWOLF MATE! Even if you did how do you know he's fighting a rouge!?" Emily demanded.
"I DO SO HAVE A WEREWOLF MATE! The werewolf mate is always fighting off a rouge." Hazel shouted over her shoulder looking back at her friend.
Hazel suddenly ran into a hard furry wall. Clearly she had just ran into her lovely mate. She felt little tingles all over skin from the brief contact she had.
"I'm human the bond took longer." Hazel thought.
Hazel looked up expecting to see the smaller black wolf but no. The smaller black wolf laid dead in front of the big one. Hazel's foot was touching the smaller wolf's paw. She frowned and started to cry.
"What's wrong!?" Emily panted finally catching up to her friend.
"The big bad wolf killed my mate!" Hazel bawled.
"For Pete sakes that wasn't your mate!" Emily shouted as she doubled over trying to catch her breath.
"I wasn't fast enough! The rouge killed my mate!" Hazel bawled.
The big black wolf that previously looked confused now growled loudly. The big black wolf looked angry as he turned around quickly to face them.
"Thank you Hazel, now, we are going to die by a bigger wolf!" Emily shouted.
"Who cares? I lost my mate!" Hazel flopped on her back.
The big black wolf growled louder.
"Omg, it wasn't your freaking mate! We are about to die and you are convinced that your mate was killed!" Emily shouted exasperated.
"All the signs were there. Wattpad taught me well." Hazel sighed.
"Omg! A wolf can't be your.." Emily's shouting trailed off.
"Mate." A deep husky voice that sounded oddly like River's finished.
Hazel picked up her head to see almost a completely naked River kneeling in front of her. Emily was making inhuman noises. River's eyes bore into Hazel.
"You can stop checking me now." Hazel squeaked.
River chuckled and smiled, "Now, why would you do that?" He leaned in slightly and Hazel's breath caught in her throat.
Hazel tried to work out an answer.
"WEREWOLF!" Emily finally managed to put together a real word.
River's and Hazel's eyes both shot up to Emily who's eyes were wide.
"Yes?" River asked.
"Hazel, werewolf, naked!" Emily tried to formulate words.
"Almost naked." Hazel corrected her, "Wait! You killed my mate!" Hazel kicked him hard in the shoulder.
River grunted in pain then growled loudly.
"Don't hurt him! He'll eat us!" Emily said frantically.
"He wasn't your mate!" River shouted angrily as he tackled and restrained Hazel on the ground, "You are mine." River grounded out.
"Ohhhh, that makes more sense. How did I miss that?" Hazel nodded as she felt the tingles along her body where they touched.
"You can't be so okay with this!" Emily shouted.
"You're right em. Get off of me! I don't like you!" Hazel shoved him off of her.
"You like a rouge more than your real mate! Where did the excitement go? Why don't you like me?" River asked confused and hurt.
"You annoy me and won't leave me alone!" Hazel started to walk off.
"Um, I'm your mate and an alpha, that's kinda in the job discription!" River followed her.
Hazel whipped around to face him and he almost fell.
"Just because you are my mate doesn't mean you can growl at Jake, threaten my friends, and watch me 24/7. I'm aware you are an alpha. I'm aware that you being alpha puts me in danger. However, unlike the lunas on Wattpad I know Karate. Thus, meaning I can take care of myself!" Hazel stormed off while River stood there shocked.
"She's taking this too well." Emily mummbled.
"She really is." River scratched the back of his neck then ran after her, "Why are you being difficult?"
"Because just because you are my mate doesn't mean I have to like you and melt in a puddle of love at your feet. You can't just love someone right away."
"You're human, the.." River got cut off.
"Mate bond will be weaker until you mark me and will take longer to affect me. I know." Hazel finished.
"So, why are you mad!?" Emily demanded before River could say anything.
"I'm not mad. I just don't like him. He annoys me. He got jealous over a freaking snake!" Hazel shouted.
"........ I don't understand you sometimes." Emily sighed.
"That's okay. Now, hurry your butt up. I wanna go home and shower. I'm tired."
"I bet, you ran pretty far, pretty fast." River chuckled.
"You're tired! I'm freaking out of shape!" Emily screeched.
River scooped Hazel up and held her close.
"Put me down! If Emily has to walk then, I'm walking!" Hazel struggled.
"No, you are tired. I'm carrying you." River said firmly.
"That's not fair! Emily is way more tired than I am." Hazel argued.
"She's not my mate." River gave her a stern look.
Hazel struggled, trying to free herself from his iron grip.
"Put me down!" Hazel shouted.
"No!" River growled.
"Hazel, just chill. It's okay." Emily patted Hazel's foot.
Hazel bit River's shoulder hard and his eyes darkened.
"That did the opposite of what you wanted." River whispered and Hazel gulped.
"Another, branch snapped!" Emily screamed.
"We literally have a werewolf with us and you are afraid of a branch?" Hazel gave her a are you for real look.
"I don't want to watch you go into I must save my mate mode again." Emily said harshly.
A six foot tall blonde man stepped out of the trees, "Her?" He asked pointing to Emily.
River nodded and the man scooped a screaming Emily.
"Stop screaming! He's clearly a member of River's pack! He clearly is carrying you so I'll shut up!" Hazel shouted.
Emily stopped screaming, "Oh, hi then." Emily waved sheepishly.
"Man, you scream a lot." River groaned.
"I'm Chris by the way." Chris smiled down at Emily.
"I'm Emily, are all werewolves hot?"
"Yes." Hazel smiled.
"Not, as hot as me." River smirked as Hazel just rolled her eyes.____________________________________Does Emily look like you imagined? What do you think of the chapter so far?
