Okay, we're doing a section on poetry and culture and stuff in Humanities. Well, we were given this one assignment where we had to pick from a list of different poets and stuff. We were sent a Google Doc with some links to websites with the poems and stuff. Well, for this one poet two of his poem titles, just the titles that's all I saw, had the f word! The f word! And those links were given to us by the teacher!
Like, she's done some things that I thought were questionable, but this crosses a line. The f word.
I k ow it doesn't seem like much of a big deal, and honestly because of Mark and Jack I'm a little used to it, but it doesn't belong in school stuff. I've actually has a few instances with this school program where I was like, "Oh dear, that's not okay."
My middle school math teacher was giving an example that involved making rice, and to demonstrate the stirring he used his middle finger! He stuck his middle finger, just his middle finger, our and used it to pretend to stir rice. And he said, "Don't tell you parents I middle fingered you." Well than don't use your middle finger! Use anything else!
And my brother, when he was in elementary school still, his history textbook had the n word. It was on a quote by some dude and it was the n word. And he didn't know what that word was, we'd never heard it before. So he was reading out loud and my mom heard and she was not at all happy.
And all the history assignment are depressing as heck. They only go over the tragedies and horrible parts of history. They just make you hate the human race. And this year literature is depressing too.
God, I hate this program.
