"Because.... because I'm in love with her Jo" I hear jack say. My mind goes blank as my mouth drops to the floor. I run down the hall but soon hear the door open behind me. I don't pay attention to it and run into Daniels room closing the door.

This couldn't be happening. Not jack. I hear a frantic knock on my door a few seconds later but I ignore it. I knew it was jack but what was I supposed to say.

Ja: "Kit please I need to explain"
K: "explain what" I say through the door. He just sighs and I hear his foot steps pad down the hall in the other direction. I just needed some space to comprehend everything.

Love.

Loves a strong word.

Who knew three simple words can turn everything upside down. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know how to handle it. I sat in my room on the floor with my head in my hands just thinking. I didn't know what to say or how to take this. Obviously I didn't like him like that but what should I say to him and what should I say to Daniel. I knew I couldn't tell him right away, I had to talk to jack. But I needed time to clear my head and figure things out.

After a while I got off the ground and headed out of the room. I stood in front of Jacks door for a while, not knowing if I should walk away or not. Before thinking I quickly knock on the door.
K: "jack" I say
Ja: "come in" I walk in and see him sitting on his bed with Jonah. Jonah gets the message and leaves us alone. I sat down on the bed next to him, neither one of us knowing what to say.
K: "I knew what I was going to say when I came in here but now I have no clue"
Ja: "just say what's on your mind, I already know the answer anyway"
K: "you know I can't date you jack" I blurt out
Ja: "trust me I know" he says sadly
K: "I just don't like you in that way, I love you Jack as a friend and I'm sorry"
Ja: "you have nothing to be sorry about I'm the stupid one" he says never making eye contact with me.
K: "it happens to all of us I just don't want things to be awkward"
Ja: "I don't either I never meant for you to hear that" I was over this
K: "I know jack but I did and you can't take it back so get over it get yourself together and find someone you really love" I say harshly. My dad always taught me tough love was the best.
Ja: "yeah you're right"
K: "so are you gonna tell Daniel"
Ja: "yeah I'm just gonna go up to him and be like hey dude I like your girlfriend but we cool now and we're just friends don't worry" he says sarcastically which makes us both laugh
K: "how about we just keep this to ourselves"
Ja: "agreed" he responds and I give him a hug before leaving the room and heading downstairs.

I just hoped he could get over his feelings. I just wanted the 6 of us to be happy and seeing Jack so distressed makes me sad. If I give him some time he should be okay.
