Ethan's pov
(Y/n) had been waiting in over 3 hours now. I had been talking to a weak Austin in a long time, but now he was asleep. No one was here only Austin and I. all the nurses were gone.
"Austin" I whispered. no replie. I opened my phone, and saw (Y/n) had texted me.
(Y/n): IS HE OK???
(Y/n) : answer
(Y/n) : what is happening?
(Y/n) : ask if I can come in
I approached the door. opened it to see a sleeping (Y/n). it was dark outside, and I also felt sleepy.
"(Y/n)" someone said from behind. it was the weak Austin. (Y/n) opened her eyes. they looked at each other.
"Guys, I'm also here" I said sarcastically frustrated. (Y/n) walked over to Austin, and gave me a glare. I felt like they had a connection I wasn't a part of...
"How are you?" she said and sat on her knees in front of him. "Do you need water?"
"I feel like shit" she laughed slowly. A nurse came in. he had a white piece of paper in his left hand.
"is this" he looked at the paper "Austin Richard Post?" he asked and looked at me.
"Yes" I said.
"well.." he continued. "four of your ribs are broken - that means you'll have to stay here for at least two week" Austins smile faded and he closed his eyes. "your left arm are also broken, and your kidney's are removed - because they were damaged" Austins eyes were still closed. He took a deep breath.
"okay" he said.
"you can only eat yogurt, soup and food like that, untill we find a new kidney. you only need one, but you're fare down on the list" the nurse said. I felt so bad for Austin. "untill you'll get a new kidney, you'll have to stay here - which can be months"
"But I have a turné that starts in 3 weeks" Austin said. he was so mad.
"no you don't" the nurse said.
"You only need one kidney right?" I said after a silence. the nurse nodded. "then" I pointed at my stomach and smiled "you can get mine". Austins eyes looked like stars untill the nurse began to speak.
"well.. that's not fair for all the other people, who's first on the list. you can give your kidney to one of them, and it will all go faster" he said.
"ooorrr... I can just give MY kidney to MY bestfriend" I said like the nurse was a fucking idiot, which he was. "it's MY kidney - It's my property - so I'll decide what'll happen to it" the nurse thought for a long time.
"I'll talk to my coworkers about it" he said and left us. Austin looked at me - his smile was endless and his happy eyes glitteres like starts in a univers. I smiled to him and Ethan broke the magic silence.
"well. I need to poop" he walked out, as i shouted down the hallway: "B R U H".
Austin and I was alone in the room. The door closed automatically behind Ethan and the silence came back.
"You can't Imagine how happy I am" he said. I looked down. It was a little awkward. I didn't wanted to be some kind of hero to him. "I owe you so much" He laughed.
"no you don't"
"yes I do" I sat down and looked at him. "do you want to come with me on tuor?" he said. I blinked. what...
"wha*laugh*at" A smile slowly grew on my lips.
"you heard me" he said.
"yes, but why me. I'm just gonna be a burden. you know I'm hungry all the time" I said.
"Because you're my bestfriend" he said. Time stopped. the word "B E S T F R I E N D" made echoes in my head. "you said: give MY kidney to MY bestfriend " he quoted me. I actually only said it to exaggerate in front of the nurse, so the nurse maybe could see how important it was. Austin was a really sweet guy, and I only had the title best friend with someone, back in high school.
"sure. It could be fun" why did that slip my lips. it sounded so cringe.
Ethan came back. "there was no toilet paper" he said.
"okay" I said.
"So I had to use my hand".
"okay"...
