She was beautiful. So graceful and amazing. He watched her every move, losing to his video games multiple times, just to watch her. She was his life. He loved her. But did she?
He had tried everything, yet the dark teen was still oblivious, she thought he was still attached to Terra. Everyone on the team had noticed it. She just couldn't tell.
He found her to be mesmerizing, and he often found himself daydreaming about her. His love just didn't know how badly he loved her.
And this is where our story starts (A/N super cheesy, yeah sorry).
It was a normal day in the Tower, except for the abnormally large thunder clouds forming up in the sky above them. Cyborg had gone to work on the T-Car, and Starfire went out with her boyfriend, Robin. They sat in the living room, Beast Boy stealing glances at the girl. Raven, still oblivious, was reading.
Thunder boomed at them, and they both jumped a little, but recovered quite quickly. That was to be expected because of those huge gray clouds. Beast Boy decided to try to open up a conversation.
"Quite big clouds, am I right?" He asked, trying not to look her in the eyes. She just nodded.
"The power might go out," he muttered and shivered. She looked up.
"You're scared of the dark?" She asked, surprised. He lowered his head and nodded.
"Hey," she said, feeling bad for him. "I doubt the power will go off, and if it did, we'd all be here to comfort you." He shook his head, still not satisfied.
About to console him more, Raven opened her mouth, but before the words could leave her mouth lightning struck and the power blinked out. Beast Boy whimpered.
Raven wasn't sure what to do. She had told him they would comfort him, but only she was there now. What could make him feel safe? She scooted closer, and, very hesitantly, placed her arms around him. He snuggled into her embrace and a sigh was emitted. A low whimper sounded.
"Raven, I'm scared." He said, very quietly.
What could she do? What made her less frightened? What made her so strong? What concealed her, built up her walls so much they couldn't crumble without extreme force? It hit her suddenly. Her cloak.
She took her hands away, making him emit a growl. She then unclasped her cloak, put half of it around him, half of it around her, then clasped it again. She then turned and hugged him. Now they were both inside Raven's cloak, waiting for the power to come back on.
"You know," Raven whispered. "My cloak protects me from others, it helps stop my emotions. Maybe we could find something, like this to help with your fear."
"I already found something." He murmured into her shoulder, feeling quite safe already.
"What?" She asked.
"You." Her cheeks fired up, and he thankfully couldn't see them. But, she was also confused.
"Why me?"
"You're comforting. You're like a ray of sunshine in the dark." Her cheeks burned red.
"Why is that?" She asked, still confused.
"Because you're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. More beautiful than the sun itself."
"Really?" She asked, not daring to believe it.
"Would you like me to prove it?" His confidence had suddenly returned.
"Maybe."
He did something so unexpected Raven almost didn't believe he attempted it. He kissed her. Butterflies were dancing, and the room was no longer dark. It was light. She wasn't evil, not in his eyes, and she would never be. She was accepted. She began to cry.
"Raven? What's wrong?"
"It's just...different to be, well, accepted. I am half-demon, don't forget."
"And yet, you're my angel. Thanks to you and your safety cloak here." She giggled weakly through her tears, and she kissed him again. The lights flickered on as they did so, but they stayed in Raven's cloak all afternoon. Because it was safe.
