Her words are I love you
but her tone says the opposite.
She is sweet and cruel,
fiery passionate,
and icy cold.
Her hands enclose in mine,
but I don't feel warm anymore.
she tells me,
If i loved her I'd stay home,
if I loved her I'd buy her things,
if I loved her I'd let her go out
in a tight dress, alone.
Like I don't know...
If I loved her I'd give her the world
but the problem is I do love her.
So I stay, I buy, I let her go
guilt trips through me when I say no.
She screams and says I am worthless
but I love her,
So I stay by her side...
After listening to Cherry Wine by Hozier I had to write this. It struck such a huge chord with me. Boys get hurt too, Girls can be just as cruel. If you're abused at all I encourage you to get help, whether you are a guy or girl, you don't deserve to be treated awful. 1-800-799-7233 is the national domestic abuse hotline. Be kind, and be safe.
