Eyes

There is sadness behind my eyes

and madness behind my eyes

and hope behind my eyes

and fear behind my eyes

but no one sees behind them.

If my eyes were windows to my soul

wouldn't they see?

See the contradicting nature inside them?

Fearlessly fearful

hopelessly hopeful

sane insanity

happy sadness

"I don't see sadness in your eyes."

I don't see happiness in mine.
