AN: this is a picture of an actual place where people cliff dive in France lol

"So... I was thinking...do you know any cliffs we could jump off? If you're up to it, of course." I said. It was early morning and we were watching the sunrise from Bailey's window. We didn't get much sleep.

"Okay that's the second weirdest question I've been asked."

"What's the first?" I said curiously.

"You don't want to know."

"Well actually I woul-" I started before Bailey cut me off.

"-there is a place, but it's a little ways away."

"...alright go on."

"You up for a road trip?"

"Are you kidding? I've waited my entire life to hear that."

"Then, let's do it. It's about an 8 hour drive and we could camp there for the night. I went there once as a kid."

"Are you sure? Can you just up and leave?"

"Yeah I'll just call in sick at the bar tonight."

"Seriously? You're cool with this?" I said with slight excitement.

"Definitely."

"I seriously love you, you're the best." I blurted out and hugged her excitedly.

"Let the packing begin!"She smiled

"Are you going to be okay driving the rest of the way?" I asked as we were walking back to the car. We stopped a little more than halfway through the trip to refill on some snack and gas.

"Do you want to drive?"

"Well I mean I don't have a drivers license, but sure!"

"Yeah I think I'll continue being the driver..."

"Fine." I pouted at her and got back into the car.

"Aw, you're a cute pouter." Bailey said after she buckled her seat belt.

"Shut up." l laughed and cranked up the music.

I don't think theres a better feeling than rolling all the windows down, driving above the speed limit, and singing your favorite songs at the top of your lungs.

It was cute how Bailey knew all the words to both the popular french and english songs.

We were finally driving onto the camp ground when Bailey said,"How is it that I've only known you for a couple weeks but I feel closer to you than anyone else?"

"Honestly, I have no idea."

Surprisingly, we were the only people there. We stood at the top and looked down at the water.

"If you push me in I will murder you." I said with a serious voice.

"Good luck driving all the way home without a license."

"Aw dang I forgot about that." We laughed.

"Do you think it's deep?"

"Only one way to find out." I grabbed her hand and walked closer to the edge,"Ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be."

1!" We counted off together and jumped. Bailey screamed. It felt weird and terrifying but also like a rush of adrenaline. It was farther to the water than I expected. It felt like the way down took forever but only a second at the same time.

We shot down into the water and slowly resurfaced. I swam toward her.

"You okay?" I asked.

"That.Was.Amazing." She said slightly out of breath. She was smiling wide. I probably looked like a mess but Bailey still managed to look beautiful.

"And terrifying."

My heart was still pounding. Adrenaline rushed through every part of me. Bailey's eyes were lit up with happiness. I closed the space between us and moved the hair away from her face. The world slowed down again. Her lips looked soft. I leaned in closer to her. My heart raced and my thoughts disappeared. On a stroke of confidence, I pressed my lips to hers. She put her arm around my neck and pulled me closer.

After a minute we broke apart, breathless. The only sound was the chirping of the birds.

"Well that was...something." She said.

"Something?"I asked hoping I didn't just make a stupid mistake.

"The best something I've ever had." She smiled and kissed me again.
